Throughout the day I get certain memories I don't feel like having. I just don't want to think about it and no matter how many times I try to get it out of my head it just doesn't want to come out. I was just wondering if anyone knows a way to help blocks these type of thoughts for good... I know this is a dumb question and I expect dumb answers any feedback would be good.

Listen to some good tunes. Busy yourself in anyway possible. Simply: think about something else.

I think everyone gets this at some point. Distractions help. Hypnosis is also an option, but you'd have to see an expert about that.

i dont think an expert is needed.
i succefully found a 'self hypnosis' book and succefully got rid of anixy everytime i would see a blue light (police, ya know) even from far away. and there are alot of these here since therse poeple blowing themselfs up everywere.
anyway - i dont know what your thoughts are exactly, but self hypnosis could help.
its not that difficulat to control your feelings and thoughts although you may suffer some outbearsts - depends on the circimstants.

ok i have a simple way to help render u of these bad/unwanted memories, its a very simple process. First, grab the nearest hammer. Second, Hit urself in the temple as hard as possible. Third, if able, try and think of those memories again, if this doesnt work for you, repeat step 2.

these thoughts i take it, are bad thoughts of something you have done in the past? if they are negative self-projections, dont let your mind complete the thought, this is a good start, remember that tho, & after a little while, youll move on.... exercise, ride a bike round ( maybe too many pills ;] aye )

i disagree with many of the answers. i think you shouldnt push these emotions/memories away. if you have done something bad, do anything you can to right what was wrong, i.e. write an apology, etc... if you cant do anything about it accept what you have done and learn from it and use it to teach others about your mistake. also, meditation does wonders...

i dont think you should push away bad memories. i just offerd hypnosis to deal with anoying habits or unexplanable phobias... if your feeling somthing therse a reason you feel it. u need to feel it to the maximum and then maybe it'll go away. if not - maybe a psychologist will help...
