Your dominant sense

what sense would you say that you live through the most? which sense gives you the most reliable information (personally)?
As a sound guy, it is easy to say that aural sensation is my most prominent sense. subtle nuances of speech stick out like a sore thumb to me.... the way I can recognize the reverb over a phone to tell where someone is at.... it is all almost obsessive to me. When I meet a girl, of course my eyes cause the initial attraction, but I can gather so much more information about the sounds that they make compared to how they look or smell. Of all my senses, the only one that I could say is 100% or even superhuman, is my hearing. When I trip, I always have more aural hallucinations than visual ones.
so what is your primary sense? and why do you think it is?

this is a thread about your senses, not a definitive, blanket statement regarding how you believe everyone else perceives reality.
please elaborate more.
It isnt one of those "if you had to lose any sense, which would you choose" questions, because I believe that all my other senses funnel through my hearing. When someone has too much perfume on, I can hear the cheap fabric of their clothes rubbing together as they drunkenly stumble through a crowd while they shriek "OH MY GAWD! HEY!" to every single person they have ever had previous eye contact with. When I see a bum about to ask me for money, I can already tell what he is going to mumble through his foamy lips. When I hear someone on the phone, having never seen them, my mental image of them is usually 90+ percent accurate.
go more in depth as to why sight is your most prominent and dependable sense to you.

My eyes are probably the most advanced sense. Outside I tend to notice everything in my sight including everything not important. I can understand people just by their facial expressions and body language.
My ears are pretty good too. I can see how the fact that dealing with audio can enhance your way of listening. I surely to manage to separate some clear sounds from the regular outside ambient noises. On the phone for me understanding in which environment the other person is has always been normal. My trips tend to be quite audible as well.
PS: Thanks for the trophy

For some reason I feel like my idea of what you sound like must be 90% accurate. The way you write just seems to accentuate vocal qualities.
I guess my dominant sense is touch, or kinesthetic sense. Not that I perceive more of the world through it, but if the strengths of my senses were placed in respective distributions of the population, I think that one would rank highest.

Dharma Discourse: Do you get it? and, If so, say a word. How do you express it? How do you express what you’ve got? It doesn’t matter if the monks got it or not. It does matter if you get it or not. How do you show me if you understand? Deaf, mute and blind— already illuminating before it is said, Manifesting the body as preaching, saving all sentient beings.

Vision is my dominant sense, through it I gather information from the world that enables me understanding. I also often communicate more with my eyes than with my words, I suppose it's ironic that I have horrendous eyesight. Audio is secondary for the reasons stated by Psilocyberin in post #3. I want to see somebody whose dominant sense is taste..

well, taste and smell would be considered one, since they are pretty much the same.

well if you think they're basically the same then to hell with the classical 5 senses
sight, hearing, smaste, touch - there, that's better
