I consider myself to be somewhat of a black philosopher. Even though I'm not black. Nor am I a philosopher. Though I'll think about it. I can think about black philosophy. It worked.

I hate to play the race card but its apt for this reply.

A lot of black achievements do not get deserved praise nor mention throughout history. So don't be surprised if you cannot find one in your immediate textbooks.

I even heard that some whites were a tad disgruntled by Halle Berry (who is half white) playing Nefertiti in an upcoming movie. Some falsely claim she was white....

Oh yeah.

Stormfront had a proverbial fit when the History channel reconstructed her face from her skeleton:
http://www.drdee.dsc.rmit.edu.au/news/nefertiti.jpg

which is a sharp contrast with the bust on display in Berlin with its pale skin and European bone structure:

King Tut was Egyptian. Egyptian is caucasian.

Today yes; Then--no.

1) Ancient Egyptians made CLEAR distinctions between themselves and those of other races.  They depict Europeans as MUCH lighter in complexion with pointer features.
http://www.catchpenny.org/images/seti1a.gif
http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/prehistory/egypt/government/tutankhamun.jpg

To say they were black would be an assumption; but to say they were Caucasian would be a far fetched assumption. Anyone of that color and those features by American standards would be black.

2) The Moors (Ancient Arabs) are described by the Romans as being very dark.
3) The earrings were placed on her judging by Pyramid paintings.  Earrings/lipstick were popular adornments of Egyptian royalty (including men at times)
4) The above comments are a testament to my above statement :-)

I'm surprised I didn't get flamed. coolbeans.

No

The concept of a "Caucasian race" or Varietas Caucasia was first proposed under those names by the German scientist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (1752-1840).[5] His studies based the classification of the Caucasian race primarily on skull features...

Sigh......................................

Yes, I admitted the EGYPTIANS today are Caucasian.

The depictions; however, are not. If you say that they are then I guess a whole plethora of "black people" today are Caucasian.

I'm sorry but those lips are not Caucasian; unless the Egyptians were all distant relatives of Angelina Jolie

http://www.mnsu.edu/emuseum/prehistory/egypt/government/tutankhamun.jpg

And even if they weren't "Black", theyd most definately be black by American Standards which still abides by the one drop rule.

If blue-eyed/NATURALLY dark blonde Vanessa Williams is black http://www.ymcstore.com/ProductImages/detail_vanessa_williams.jpg

Then Tut and Nefertitti would be no exception. They'd at least considered "Light skin blacks"

And let's not even get into the negroid Sphinx. :-)

So, you're saying they're Egyptian but that you think they look Black, so they were Black? They're all distant relatives of Angelina Jolie :smirk:

This is why its hard to find a black philosopher :-). Some people will fight things that give merit to ANYTHING black.

No, I said the features that they both exhibit are non-caucasian.

The lips and circular skullshapes of both Tut and Nefertitti are NOT Caucasian traits.

Why do you think there was so much chaos over her lips being shown that full? What reason would stormfront have to be so adverse to that depiction?
Why did they complain about her forehead and "niggerlips"?

And I said they remain racially ambiguous, but are undeniably closer to black. Do some research on French exploration of Egypt and the Sphinx. Why were they so bothered by its "caucasian" lips and nose?

Also explain to me why Ancient Egyptian busts appear to be VERY fair-skinned when in actually they depict themselves as very dark ?

Hell in movies they have Germanic looking people playing Egyptians LOL.

How much melanin one has in their skin has little bearing on thinking thoughts, but the way I understand it, Jesus had black skin (contrary to most of the pictures of him looking like he was from Sweden.)

And, in my humble opinion, the only reason you haven't heard of others is the fact that other races aren't so crazy about forcing their junk down another race's throat like the white race is.
