A couple of my jars contaminated and I want to go ahead and cook up some more so how long should I PC my empty jars to sterilize them, or do I just treat them like new jars and fill them and PC?

Just wash them really thoroughly and then wash them again. then hit a couple times with rubbing alcohol, and then wash them again. it might be a good idea too to get some replacement lids and bands.

There is no need to ever sterilize an empty jar or wipe it with alcohol or anything else. You should pc them before opening to dump the contaminants out, but that's to protect the air in your house from the released mold spores.
Once the jars are empty and have been washed with soap and water, simply fill them up and re-use. RR

Can i dump out the contaminated jar into a ditch before then sterilize the jar in a PC for an 30-60minutes, then wash it with dishwashing soap? I would like to see if i can get any type of fruiting outdoors with the contaminated mycelium.

Sure, but remember to stand upwind of where you dump it to keep from getting contaminated by the contams,(as in you don't want to get that shit on you, then bring it in your house, BTW, do you realize you just brought this tread back from the dead, of seven years ago)?
I'm not jumping your shit about it, but often times many will, sometimes this is a mistake that was completely not even noticed until someone pointed it out, other times it was the only post someone could find related to this subject, but there are many post on this topic a lot newer then a seven year old thread, really, I don't see the harm in it, but I suppose there is a reasoning behind it.

I open my contam jars in a bucket of water outside, don't even bother cooking them. Using gloves of course... Give them a good wash with soap and water and load em up for the next round. Everything dies in the PC with or without grains inside the jars.
The whole reason behind pc'ing them is to kill the spores so they don't aerosolize and spread everywhere... well they don't do that underwater either.
edit: for a second there I though RR was back. thread resurrection at its finest.

Yeah I noticed it was an old thread. I was reading a bunch of threads but I thought I'd ask RogerRabbit for a more straight forward answer due to his highly praised status in this forum. Also, I'm fairly new to forums, so bringing back old threads is a no bueno?

So no need to PC sterile before I start a new batch ? Soap and water it is. Thanks y'all.
