Species Identification - Orange Mushroom in Ohio

I found these about a year ago while I was playing disc golf. I was surprised to see orange mushrooms and I didn't have any idea that they might be psycho active so I just took a picture of them with my cell phone and walked to the next hole. I think they might be Gymnopilus spectabilis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gymnopilus_spectabilis

Habitat: Wood - Found in deciduous woods, growing straight from a fallen rotting tree.
Gills: I didn't really check at the time but in the pic it looks dark orange.
Stem: Orange, same size throughout 2cm wide.
Cap: Orange, ~1" diamter.
Spore print color: Was unable to obtain because I left the mushrooms untouched.
Bruising: Didn't think to check at the time.
Location: Picked in SW Ohio, Middle America.
I'm thinking about trying to find some of these again this year. Today is probably a good day to go look because it just rained all night last night. What do you think, are these mushrooms Gymnopilus spectabilis?

It's possible, but without a specimen in hand we'll never really know. If you find a mushroom and want to know what it is, be sure to pick it and bring it home.
Happy mushrooming!

the stem on these is orange and thin (from what i see in the picture). and the gyms are thick and white. so i would say most likely not, but if you can get a specimen we can try to help you.

gyms can be almost white but will have a yellowish tint, for the most part they will be yellow to orange(spectabilis that is)and the flesh will be yellow.
