hmmm, love the website so far, but i gotta say... when i click and go to "threads" there is a reoccuring problem,
it will say 123 number of posts (right!), but then where it says new posts it will either keep saying that there are so&so new posts, even when i click on them... so lets say i click on a thread with 420 posts and (2) new posts,,, i read and find that there ar no new posts, its either just 420 or sometimes 418 but i already read the two new posts.... it's not a big deal, but it's a pest...

This is the *third* time I've seen this exact issue in this forum and have never seen a reply. Good luck dude.

I may just be imagining things on this one...

Sometimes this happens when a user deletes a post immediately after making it.

Ok, so that makes four times. Seems to be a popular, ongoing problem.

They just haven't been able to figure out this bug yet

As have I... and I don't have anybody on ignore... I don't want to admit how many hours I have spent trying to find this bug... the big problem is that I can't ever reproduce it consistently to isolate the cause. Sometimes it gets really bad and other times I don't notice a problem for months on end.

You know you can manually mark threads "read" by clicking the folder in the first column.

right, but the problem is they don't *stay* marked as read - even if new posts aren't made to the thread. I usually just go in and hit 'mark all as read' to clear the board and start over.

I'll have to take a good long look and see if I can figure it out. It may be easier to rewrite the thread tracking from scratch than to find the bug, but eventually I'll have to fix it either way.

Fairly consistently this WAF forum and Sci Tech and a handful of other forums I've never been in are never marked with a new post. the mushroom is always white

Hey, why don't you put a little "mark forum read" icon on top of the column with the folders? It would go well with the manual "mark as read" for individual threads.
