Conspiracy Theories vs. Conspiracy Actualities
    #6913691 -

Conspiracy, in common usage, is the act of working in secret to obtain some goal, usually understood with negative connotations.

Do you think that knowledge and information are being kept from the majority of people on Earth?

Why is it that no matter where you look, you get the same exact "news" story? (sometimes the words are changed to fit its intended audience)

Why is it that we are being *entertained to death* with mindless garbage of no real importance?

Why is so much money/time/energy spent on entertainment (TV shows, movies, video games, toys) while *real* knowledge of who we are, where we came from, etc. is absent?

Do we just not know, or does someone know and is keeping it from us?

If I wanted to control you, the best way to would be to keep you ignorant of the truth that you were being controlled AND keep your attention consumed and wrapped up in some bogus and meaningless junk (left vs. right, dem vs. repub, you know the usual sh*t you see going on)

Who owns the Federal Reserve? (The Federal Reserve is the private bank which "creates billions of $$$ out of thin air" lends it to our govt. and charges interest...and the gov't doesn't pay the interest back...we do...it's called income tax.)

Who owns the multi-national media corporations and why is the same news story there no matter which paper or channel you look?

Control of information = control of people's minds.

Do you think a few are controlling the many?

It gets particularly informative at about 3 minutes.

A lot of has to do with what sells. People don't really put much thought into who we are / where we come from / why we're here. The only way to know these things are to discover them for yourself anyway. That's too much effort for most people. Thus we have religion (I believe that religion actually is a conspiracy that has been working with unprecendented success for thousands of years).

I recently read a post on another forum that was about how "we are all niggers" (this isn't meant to be racist so chill out); how we work from maturity to near death for someone else to survive, how basic decisions about our bodies are made by others (such as what we're allowed to put into them), the "bought and sold" aspect ..."some niggers get along just fine with massa and others are in the fields. Some get to dress fine and live in the big house and others get traded for cheaper niggers in other countries." If you don't conform there are strict financial/judicial punishments.

In essence, yes, the many (us niggers) are more or less contolled by the few (massa). We live like pets for the most part. Other people control our food supply, our information, our behavior...it's quite a pathetic situation when you think about it. All we really do is turn small cogs of someone else's economic monster machine and grow their status quo. Ain't life great?

Quote:
Deluded people...Learn that there exists a conspiracy in favor of despotism against liberty, of incapacity against talent, of vice against virtue, of ignorance against enlightenment…This society aims at governing the world…its object is universal domination…No such calamity has ever yet afflicted the world - Marquis de Luchet (Essai sur la Secte des Illumnines, 1789)

Behind the division of humanity stand those Enlightened Ones whose right and privilege it is to watch over human evolution and to guide the destinies of men…This they do through the implanting of ideas in the minds of the world thinkers, so that these ideas in due time receive recognition and eventually become controlling factors in human life. They train the members of the New Group of World Servers in the task of changing these ideas into ideals. These in turn become the desired objectives of the thinkers and are then taught to the powerful middle class and worked up into world forms of governments or religion, thus forming the basis of the new world order - Alice Bailey (Occultist. Fabian Author. Head of the Lucis Trust)

…We see our edifice…crumbling and covering the ground with ruins, we see the destruction that our hands no longer arrest…a great sect arose, which taking for its motto the good and the happiness of man, worked in the darkness of the conspiracy to make the happiness of humanity a prey for itself. This sect is known to everyone, its brothers are known no less than it name. it is they who have undermined the foundations of the Order to the point of complete overthrow; it is by them that all humanity has been poisoned and led astray for several generations…They began by casting odium on religion…Their masters had nothing less in view than the thrones of the earth, and the governments of the nations was to be directed by their nocturnal clubs…the misuse of our order…has produced all the political and moral troubles with which the world is filled today…we must from this moment dissolve the whole Order - Duke of Brunswick (Grand Master of Freemasonry. Manifesto to the Lodges, 1794. Source: La Franc-Maconnerie dans sa veritable signification)

I have been convinced that we, as an Order, have come under the power of some very evil occult Order, profoundly versed in science both occult and otherwise, though not infallible, their methods being BLACK MAGIC, that is to say, electro-magnetic power, hypnotism and powerful suggestion. We are convinced that the Order is being controlled by some Sun Order, after the nature of the Illuminati, if not by that Order itself - The Duke of Brunswick

Amidst the universal storm produced by the present revolutions in the political and moral world, at this period of supreme illumination and of profound blindness, it would be a crime against truth and humanity to leave any longer shrouded in a veil that can provide the only key to past and future events, things that should show to thousands of men whether the path they have been made to follow is the path of folly or of wisdom. It has to do with...all degrees and of all secret systems - The Duke of Brunswick (Grand Master of Freemasonry. Manifesto to the Lodges, 1794. Source: La Franc-Maconnerie dans sa veritable signification)

A great sect arose which, taking for its motto the good and the happiness of humanity a prey for itself. This sect is known to everyone: its brothers are known no less than its name. It is they who have undermined the foundations of the Order to the point of complete overthrow; it is by them that all humanity has been poisoned and led astray for several generations. The ferment that reigns amongst the peoples is their work.

They founded the plans of their insatiable ambition on the political pride of nations. Their founders arranged to introduce this pride into the heads of the peoples. They began by casting odium on religion...They invented the rights of man which it is impossible to discover even in the book of Nature, and they urged the people to wrest from their princes the recognition of these supposed rights.

The plan they had formed for breaking all social ties and of destroying all order was revealed in all their speeches and acts. They deluged the world with a multitude of publications...they deluded the most perspicacious men...They sowed in the hearts of youth the seed of covetousness, and they excited it with the bait of the most insatiable passions...Indomitable pride, thirst of power, such were the only motives of this sect; their masters had nothing less in view than the thrones of the earth, and the government of the nations was to be directed by their nocturnal clubs- ibid

Masonry, successor of the Mysteries, still follows the ancient manner of teaching. Masonry is identical with the ancient Mysteries - Albert Pike (Morals and Dogma, 1871)

We form an association of brothers in all points of the globe…Yet there is one unseen that can hardly be felt, yet it weighs on us. Whence comes it? Where is it? No one knows…or at least no one tells. This association is secret even to us the veterans of the Secret Societies - Guiseppe Mazzini (Head of the Bavarian Illuminati 1800s. Successor to Weishaupt)

Freemasonry is a fraternity within a fraternity - an outer organization concealing an inner brotherhood of the elect...It is necessary to establish the existence of these two separate yet independent orders, the one visible and the other invisible. The visible society is a splendid camaraderie of free and accepted men enjoined to devote themselves to ethical, educational, fraternal, patriotic, and humanitarian concerns. The invisible society is a secret and most august fraternity whose members are dedicated to the service of the mysterious arcanum acandrum (a secret or mystery). In each generation, only a few are accepted into the inner sanctuary of the Work - Manly Palmer Hall (Lectures on Ancient Philosophy, 1929)

I do conscientiously and sincerely believe that the Order of Freemasonry, if not the greatest, is one of the greatest moral and political evils under which the Union is not laboring - President John Quincy Adams (Conspiracy Against God and Man)

There is sufficient evidence that a number of societies of the Illuminati have been established in this land. They are doubtless striving to secretly undermine all our ancient institutions, civil and sacred. These societies are clearly leagued with those of the same order in Europe...We live in an alarming period. The Enemies of all order are seeking our ruin. Should infidelity generally prevail, our independence would fall, or course. Our republican government would be annihilated - Joseph Willard (President Harvard University. Spoken during his retirement address of 1812)

The great strength of our Order lies in its concealment; let it never appear in any place in its own name, but always covered by another name, and another occupation. None is fitter than the three lower degrees of Freemasonry; the public is accustomed to it, expects little from it, and therefore takes little notice of it - Adam Weishaupt (Founder of the Bavarian Illuminati, 1776. From John Robinson’s Proofs of a Conspiracy, 1798)

A holy war will now begin on America, and when it is ended America will be supposedly the citadel of freedom, but her millions will unknowingly be loyal subjects to the Crown...Your churches will be used to teach the Jew's religion and in less than two hundred years the whole nation will be working for Divine World Government. That government that they believe to be divine will be the British Empire. All religions will be permeated with Judaism without even being noticed by the masses, and they will all be under the invisible all-seeing eye of the Grand Architect of Freemasonry - General Cornwallis to General Washington (as recorded by Jonathan Williams in Legions of Satan, 1781)

Now, you hear of the Rothschilds in the world of finance. They are not the originators of the control over finance and the practices therein. But they have been given a franchise to control the money aspect of the people of the world. In return for their exercising this control and keeping their mouth shut they are given handsome privileges of money manipulation and of course increase their money wealth by leaps and bounds - Norman Dodd (Research Director of the 1950s Reese Commission investing tax exempt companies and foundations. The papers and reports of Dodd can be found in the book: The Tax-Exempt Foundations, by Bill McLlhany)

"For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents such as my encounter with Castro to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world, if you will…If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it "- David Rockefeller (Memoirs, Page 405)

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march toward world government "- David Rockefeller (Address to the Trilateral Commission, June 1991)

To play those millions of minds, to watch them slowly respond to an unseen stimulus, to guide their aspirations without their knowledge - all this whether in high capacities or in humble, is a big and endless game of chess, of ever extraordinary excitement - Sidney Webb (co-founder of the Fabian Society)

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we - George W. Bush (Freudian-Slip during BBC interview)

...if the American people had ever known the truth about what we Bushes have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched - George Bush Senior (interview with Sarah McClendon, December 1992)

I am, of course, a Zionist, and have been ever since the Balfour Declaration - Winston Churchill (to President Eisenhower)

The world’s power structures have always ‘divided to conquer’ and have always ‘kept divided to keep conquered.’ As a consequence the power structure has so divided humanity - not only into special function categories but into religious and language and color categories - that individual humans are now helplessly inarticulate in the face of the present crisis. They consider their political representation to be completely corrupted, therefore, they feel almost utterly helpless - R. Buckminster Fuller (Critical Path)

Jickey, here is something for you contemplate on:

Ever since the end of the 1800's (or so), music for the most part has been getting more simple. Is this an act of conspiracy, or a natural trend in music production? Think about it, back in the day you had to be extremely rich to go out and buy a grand piano or a violin, and also had to be formally educated to learn how to play it. Nowadays you can goto a store a few miles down the road, pick up a keyboard or even buy a cheap crappy guitar at Walmart, then goto the library to learn how to play the instrument (granted you know how to read and comprehend).

Perhaps, this is just a natural stage in an impersonal process of world learning.

Excellent point
I don't know where humanity is heading to, we are too many and diversified to tell that for sure. There are small groups and larger groups all different and if one sticks around only in one of them, chances are that he/she will apply in his mind an universal rule drawn from that particular circle.
For example, if one hangs around "psychonauts" where there will be lots of exchanges and upgrading of ideas, one could fall into the trap where one would believe that the entire world is changing in that direction.
It applies to any kind of group with it's specific patterns.
That's why, I think, until "the world" decides to change we can change on our own.
While I hope and try to do whatever I can with my own determination that there will be a large scale change, I strongly sustain individualism.

All the time. I don't reveal to the majority of people intimate details of my personal life. Which knowledge and information are you referring to, and in what sense? Information is on a "need to know basis", and this isn't a conspiracy - it is the nature of reality. If I feel that you do not need to know my first name, then I will not tell you what it is.

Quote:

I believe the phrase is appropriately termed "the wire". A local newspaper in Atlanta, Georgia, is not going to create their own news story for an event that transpires in Baghdad, Iraq. Reporters there gather information and a story is compiled and other media outlets make the decision as to whether or not they will run the story.

Quote:
Why is it that we are being *entertained to death* with mindless garbage of no real importance?

I believe the phenonemon is formally known as "supply and demand". Importance of content is a subjective conception. I personally do not feel that amateur singers being scoffed at is important enough for myself to invest my time in viewing such, yet clearly others do feel it is important enough. Again, it is not conspiracy, it is the choice of the viewer. The enertainment industry is a service industry and caters to the interests of their potential audience. They can broadcast whatever the fuck they want, but they will go out of business if no one tunes in - thus, they cater to the interests of their potential audience.

Exactly. We need to stop feeling like helpless little kids which are being controlled no matter what they and that need to be saved by an exterior force under different names such as God, Jesus, revolution, riot, best friend and blah blah . It's always our choice who we are, we can't eliminate "disturbance factors" and the assumed mind control techniques, not for all everybody. We all can do it for ourselves though. I myself like the overabundance of information and I'm aware it also has disinformation, but I like to take it as a challenge not as a lost fight.
We have where to chose from and that's good, delusional people must feed with delusion, it's probably the faze they must be in regarding their course of life. What's wrong with that? Why push them into something else?
The only duty we have is the duty to ourselves. And we can go and search for the right information, we can find balance from within, use the techniques we find more appropriate to become lucid and level-headed.

And for the original poster: one is controlled as long as one thinks that he is being controlled. As long as this thought is occupying one's thoughts, it is one of the most subtle and addictive forms of manipulation. In other words, one controls his own mind thinking that somebody else does.

I'd add here the fact that some people actually feed on paranoia. Out of the need to feel important or to add their lives a little flavor. What's sad is to see is because of that and their determination they become very good orators and story tellers and get other people into that trap too. It is a dead end. It takes one nowhere thing which leads me to the thought that a part of these people use "mind control" as an excuse for all their failures and misfortunes.

The thing with the conspiracy theory is that it has already became a propaganda term which makes the paranoid and the uninformed feel important and safe from the potential threatening matters.
That way, the most absurd theories are being born and people fall in their trap for many different reasons, but mostly because they sound sensational, out of the common and are being linked to secretive policies. Stuff like these are the trigger for one of our most basic human drives: curiosity.

For me, the only conspiracy that is really threatening for our current society is the conspiracy theory itself, which offers constant distractions from the real social and individual affairs.
It's a vicious circle which is very hard to break or get out of for one who's already in.
A conspiracy theory can be released & constructed about any "big size" event.

Who owns the Federal Reserve? (The Federal Reserve is the private bank which "creates billions of $$$ out of thin air" lends it to our govt. and charges interest...and the gov't doesn't pay the interest back...we do...it's called income tax.)

Oh my good Lord.

I don't understand how someone who creates a thread all about "questioning the system" has obviously accepted this load of bull without questioning it.

Simply put: THE FEDERAL RESERVE DOES NOT GIVE LOANS TO THE GOVERNMENT.

That's not how the system works, and that's not ever how the system worked in the past.

When the US government needs a loan they sell bonds through the Treasury Department. You know those "Savings Bonds" everyone's gandmother bought them when they were young? You pay $12 today and in 20 years you get $50?

That right there is a loan to the government. It comes out of the pocket of anyone who buys a Treasury Bond (or note, or bill, depending on the denomination and maturity period). The loan is made willingly, and the government, NOT THE FEDERAL RESERVE, decides how much interest is to be paid up front (i.e. $12 today gets you $50 in 20 years...)

Way to avoid hypocrisy by not researching the "truth" of your own conspiracy claims. And people ask why conspiracy theorists aren't taken seriously...

PS - You want to know who owns the Federal Reserve? It's easy: look at the Federal Reserve Act. Any bank that operates within a Federal Reserve district is required to buy stock in the local Reserve Bank. Thus, every single bank operating within the United States is a part-owner of the Federal Reserve and recieves a dividend from share ownership (fixed by law at 6%).

PPS - Try bringing this down to the Political forum sometime so we can give it a proper work-over

I have found some good points from both 'sides' of this debate. What I find most interesting about those who don't believe in any of the so-called conspiracies is that you seem to project the idea that no one wants ultimate control of the world. Is this an idea that just disappeared after Hitler (or anyone else who has wanted to rule the world)? Although many of the conspiracies out there are far fetched, there are many that hold some truth and value to them. (I'm not here to bring any up or start this debate).

When our govt was created, the people were given certain powers and one thing that was set forth was that govt was to be transparent. Why do we have secret policies and activities if there is not a conspiracy to control the people? You can't say national security because IMO that is the biggest crock of shit. If someone is supposedly going to attack and as we know attacks create hysteria, then why would the govt keep it secret? It doesn't make sense to me. If something or someone wants to harm the country, wouldn't keeping it secret be more likely to harm to people than having an open policy? Only people who are doing stuff that they shouldn't be want to keep secrets.

haha...conspiracy theory is satire. much like zombie movies -subtly funny and often full of gore- but there IS TRUTH hidden in them.
the Federal Reserve might not be the threat that ct's make it out to be, but if one hears these stories, it prompts him/her to actually research the federal reserve, and realize that it does have many faults and never should have been set up in the first place. If you want to know about the Federal Reserve read Louis Brandeis. "Other People's Money and How the Bankers Use It" written over 60 years ago, but still contains a lot of info about how things work.
i watch Jones documentaries and i read Icke and Marrs, but i also watch Bill O'reilly on a regular basis. if i have a problem, it is with the people who label all information that might be labeled conspiracy theory as garbage.
it contains more truth than people might realize...almost like science fiction...social fiction?

but i do agree it can become a problem just like anything else, when people get swept up in it.

If you want to get mystical

all of reality is a grand illusion

personified as maya, Satan, etc....

simply because it is created by egos who do not want to be alignment with highest purity.
This requires to the skeptic a definition of highest purity. You could hand them a tab of LSD to give them a fresh vantage point, however because they are stuck in the conspiracy they are taught to immediately be skeptical of your drugged up world views and would be not very likely to take it.

and then you could try to get them to do yoga or something, but they might prefer working 9/5 and having barbecues and watching Oprah.

Things which are fine if from the right vantage, by all means. A slippery slope of judgement forms.

Yet, we do indeed live in a world of conspiracies even from the news agency point of view, because afterall we are in a war right now. Wars can only happen if people believe stories. The stories we were told were based upon lies, yet this does not matter because this is not what we are TOLD to think, so we forget we were fed lies, and we are more fixated upon being fretful that our "Heroes" are being killed, and

hell I even forget we were given faulty intelligence

act first, ask permission later, bury it all

doesn't matter

yet to one very important person it does. The one who thinks everything is normal, there are no agendas, this one person makes up far too huge of a constituency, the clone.....

but i'm just a goofy wrtier trying to see how he can form drama with his words.

I think the whole subject of the grand conspiracy is often approached from a rather crude angle. People really want to be able to sum it all up in a few sentences. There is a great tendency to make it all very black and white.
The idea that a huge portion of our history has been hidden from us - and the nuances of the manipulations required to keep it hidden - is such a huge subject that to give it proper treatment requires more time than I think any of us want to spend writing on a message board.

There have been many authors who's works are all very obscure (compared to books like the DaVinci Code) who have penned thousands upon thousands of pages on the subject decades, even centuries before Wilson and Shea's Illuminatus! was even a hash induced fantasy.

There are a handful of authors today gaining exposure through the internet that have actually spent time reading these previous authors, and have made efforts to synergize, coalesce and disseminate interpretations of their works.

There are also plenty of folks out there today just trying to make some bucks grasping at conspiratorial straws and pressing people's panic buttons.

Personally I don't rule out the possibility that a few have desired to enslave the rest of us in order to control the planet's resources. That is one huge possibility, and if it's true then I think the manipulation goes way deeper than one would be able to grasp upon first glance.

As it has been said,, no one can really control you but you. We are however creatures susceptible to influence. We can only control ourselves to the degree that we are aware of the choices we are making. We routinely neglect our duties of personal sovereignty and allow other's beliefs to become our own without questioning.

The mechanism by which one can be mistaken as to the existence of a conspiracy or not is the same mechanism by which a grand conspiracy could be perpetrated and perpetuated. It is the power of belief.

Hidden agendas are nearly impossible to prove because those participating in them will deny any accusations at all costs.

If all the conspiracy notions are not true at all then I'm amazed by the lengths people from every end of the spectrum have gone to to make it seem like there is indeed some reality behind it, and I wish that we spent all that time and effort gardening instead.

This seems to me (and please correct me if I'm wrong) like a prime example of the illogic that conspiracy theorists are often accused of.

The difference between a conspiracy theory and a scientific theory is that a scientific theory begins with examining all the available evidence and then drawing a conclusion from it. A conspiracy theory, by contrast, begins with a conclusion and looks for evidence to fit it.

You have started with the conclusion that secret policies and activities would only exist as part of an attempt to control the people, and I suspect that your own research is focused mostly on gathering evidence to support this conclusion.

Personally I can think of MANY reasons why a secret policy would be enacted for reasons other than controlling the people. Graft and Job Security would be at the top of my list.

What's the best way to avoid a charge of nepotism? Give your friend a job whose objectives are a secret, that way no one can know if he's doing it well. What's the best way to keep a pet project out of the public eye? Make it a secret. What's the best way to keep your job and live off "gifts"? Explain that your agency needs its budget expanded, but you can't say exactly why, because it's a secret.

All of these might be nefarious ends, but none of them is synonymous with "controlling the people".

In my own limited experience with, and research into, the American Government, I've found that it most favorably compares to the stereotypical "giant soul-less corporation". Most members of Congress, Senators, and even some Presidents really just have the mentality of middle managers. "I want to keep my job, I want my end of the year bonus, I don't want to expend any more energy than I absolutely have to..."

Re: Conspiracy Theories vs. Conspiracy Actualities [Re: Pulsating]
    #6922134 -

It seems to me that the existence of organizations like the CIA which are secretive by design is inherently conspiratorial, and certainly there have been cases like COINTELPRO in which it has used for outright conspiratorial purposes and eventually the conspiracy is uncovered. I also think there are other conspiracies which are never uncovered, and many others which remain subject to debate to this day(for example, FDR's complicity in Pearl Harbor). I don't think you have to fully cover up a conspiracy in order to pull one off. You just have to get enough authoritative sources to agree with the official story so that anyone who questions it is labelled a "conspiracy theorist," and dismissed offhand. As soon as you're labelled a conspiracy theorist, you're automatically considered a loon and nothing you say is trusted.

Personally, I don't believe in one world conspiracy, as there's too much chaos in the world to account for that. I do, however, believe that much of the conflict in the world is conspiratorial in nature. I would say that world events are influenced by numerous competing conspiracies.

Thank you.

I'm not going to hide the fact that I've spent countless hours reading and pondering some of the most "out there" conspiracy notions of which most people probably wouldn't read more than a couple paragraphs unless they were gripped by a unique and pernicious curiosity - or an intnese desire to discredit.

Personally I don't feel threatened by others who want to go out on a limb and say this or that about the reality of conspiracies. I feel no need to cut them down or hush them up in order to protect any beliefs I hold that are in direct contradiction to what they say. I am not the beliefs and ideas I play with any more than a chalkboard is the words written on it.

I am quite aware of my intuition though, and it's telling me that something stinks.

How many hate-mongers use this same logic?

"My intution tells me that blacks/latinos/jews/catholics/asians/etc. are up to no good and need to be stopped!"

Most people would never accept this argument as a justification for racism or racist theories, so why is it acceptable justification for conspiracy theories?

And it seems to me that by these definitions, there seems to be a conspiracy by the elite to keep power in their hands. Whether or not they want to completely control the population doesn't downplay that there is a conspiracy by a group of elite. But, at the same time, it seems to me that in order to keep top dog, you have to control the population. They don't have a conspiracy to overthrow the US govt and create a dictatorship (in a sense), but I believe that there is a conspiracy to change the govt enough so that these individuals (and no they are not reptilians from outer space:rolleyes:) can keep their authority and power. My proof? The fact that we are now getting more and more stringent laws that take away what I thought were rights by birth and citizenship. Things are now happening in this country (or have been happening for a long time...watergate anyone???) that we have been told only happen in places like Iraq (saddass era), China, Korea, Vietnam, and other places. Spying on the general public, suppression and control of what news is out there, and insane war policies that do not benefit the american people.

Yes, something stinks. We are being "lied", all of us, in a bigger or smaller measure. What I was arguing about is that this shouldn't get paranoid over this (regarding my response to the original poster) because the moment we become paranoid and start to see conspiracies all around us is the moment when we're most controlled, and it's a very tricky ground since, when being paranoid, we tend to think that we become more aware and can see the "truth" more clearly. By thinking that we're being blinded in an endless circle of mysteries.

Instead of that I prefer to stay more calm and even if something might be "stinky", to take my time and analyze how important it is for me to go further into any kind of investigation regarding the matter. By that I'll have to think how much it affects my life and my mental stability, to see what my priorities are and then act in consequence. This also doesn't mean that I shall just stay careless about everything and ignore the existence of any potential conspiracy .

Quite a few interesting and varied responses!

This is excerpted from an essay entitled "There is No World Conspiracy"...

"People who believe that there is no major world conspiracy which involves a small number of people manipulating humanity through a hierarchical structure of control toward a New World Order, all have one identical factor in common.

They have, in actual fact, not looked genuinely into the abundance of well-researched information on world conspiracy to see if there is one!

Many of those "non-believers" may well say: "It's just not possible, far too complex a plan for the world's population to become manipulated and controlled without everyone knowing about it."

Others may say: "It's just not possible that so few, immoral and unbalanced people can be in total control of our world society."

Others may just be in denial, because to realise such a fact would immediately crush the false security of their belief system, financial investments or employment situation, etc.

It may be that others are simply too afraid to allow this fearsome truth into their reality.

Whatever the reason, none have genuinely looked. They have not looked with an open mind, an open heart and with the honest intention of finding out the absolute truth.

With this powerfully focused attitude, anyone can find out, undoubtedly, whether or not there is a major world conspiracy.....

or even discover the answers to the Universe!!

See the truth and the truth shall set you free.

MANIPULATION AND CONTROL

Contrary to common understanding, most human beings (unless we are extremely enlightened) have desires consciously or unconsciously to manipulate others to some degree or other. However, very few people are immune to this conditioning.

It is important, therefore, when pointing the finger at the major manipulators and controllers of our planet, for us to be as fully aware as possible of the depth of the motivation behind our own desires.

Truly desiring to be totally free, for ourselves, as well as for all of humanity makes for an immensely powerful and focused energy toward exposing the major controllers so that every human being will become free. Free at last.

THE MAJOR CONTROLLERS

The Elite World Government, controllers of our society, have (in certain aspects,) great intelligence - but they have no wisdom.

Intelligence without wisdom can be a very dangerous mindset, and they are the epitome of this fact.

It quickly becomes obvious to those who personally research into the hierarchical structure of world conspiracy, that the major manipulators and controllers of humanity are the ones with the largest accumulation of wealth, the owners of the banks and multinational oil, pharmaceutical and food corporations etc. These are the people who run the world.

Not surprising really, is it?

These same people own and dominate the military, police and intelligence hierarchy and, of course, all the political pawns that society has been brainwashed into believing are the most powerful people in the world.

They have also systematically created - and they orchestrate - the brainwashing structures of the media, education and dogmatic mainstream religion to imprison our minds within the logical, reasoning, left hemisphere of our brain.

These structured systems have been covertly designed to cut us off, as much as possible, from activating the intuitive, creative, right hemisphere of our brain, which is connected to our "heart mind" and therefore to all the knowledge that exists.

Once the individual has accepted the reality of this world power structure, they have just taken the first step toward freedom for themselves and for all of humanity." - David Icke

This is patently untrue. Icke is neither omniscient nor has he asked every single skeptic in the world whether or not they have actually examined the evidence.

I'd also argue (as above) that this is a prime example of the "reverse scientific method". You begin with the conclusion that there is a conspiracy and then work backwards, ignoring evidence that doesn't fit your conclusion. This results in entire fields of inquiry being ignored.

Instead, if we look at the basic hypotheses behind any conspiracy theory and collect the available evidence to either back them up or refute them, cracks begin to appear immediately.

Example:

Quote:
Contrary to common understanding, most human beings (unless we are extremely enlightened) have desires consciously or unconsciously to manipulate others to some degree or other. However, very few people are immune to this conditioning.

This ignores what happens when different human desires conflict. I would also argue that the vast majority of people have a desire to get maximum gain for minimal effort.

Looking at it from this standpoint, what's more likely, that those at the top of banks, pharmaceutical companies, etc. not only perform their daily jobs and get paid, but also expend effort above and beyond what is necessary to merely "get rich" in order to create a "New World Order"? Or is it possible that, the accumulation of wealth being their true goal, they would do what was necessary to get rich and then go no further?

We know that it doesn't actually take membership in the "vast conspiracy" to get rich in the first place, as the traditional "New World Order" seemed to miss out on many contemporary booms (Silicon Valley, Walmart, China) while others gained from them. So, if you don't need to be in the conspiracy to become wealthy, and if participation in the conspiracy requires additional effort, why would you ever join in?

First, all you seemingly do is engage in straw-man arguments and they might work on the simple-minded but they don't work on me. (For anyone who doesn't know what a straw man argument is, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man and never be fooled again by Economists posts or anyone else who engages in such a cowardly tactic.)

You see, Icke never claimed to be omniscient. Nor did he claim to have asked every single skeptic on Earth, but he has encountered hundreds of thousands of people in his research, as well as traveled extensively to over 40 countries and I am sure has found certain common denominators to those with viewpoints like yours.

Quote:
I'd also argue (as above) that this is a prime example of the "reverse scientific method". You begin with the conclusion that there is a conspiracy and then work backwards, ignoring evidence that doesn't fit your conclusion. This results in entire fields of inquiry being ignored.

Another dazzling straw-man! Icke didn't start out claiming there was a conspiracy. He had a life changing spiritual experience and began to research. And besides your derision of Icke (or whoever else I could/would have quoted) it doesn't change the fact that there are a few controlling the many. Some just don't care to look. Your reason seems to be out of fear. You also *seem* to love the capitalist system that is destroying this planet.

Also, what are you doing? You start out with an idea ("there is no conspiracy") and instead of researching, just start spouting off about how it's impossible that a small group of insanely wealthy families control this place. How do I know what you have/have not researched? The same way you know what Icke *has* researched!

Quote:
Instead, if we look at the basic hypotheses behind any conspiracy theory and collect the available evidence to either back them up or refute them, cracks begin to appear immediately.

Really? Show me this irrefutable proof that there is no conspiracy. Maybe because it's not reported on TV?

Quote:

Another straw man. No one in this thread said it took membership in anything to become wealthy although you implied that I said it. You are simply using financial wealth as a false and artificial gauge for "success". Economic booms and busts are largely orchestrated. And no one *joins* this little clique. It's largely bloodline or invite. There is no application.

You see, you have such a short sighted look at this whole thing. It's not about money...it's about control (of which money is a one aspect of, information being another, etc.), and this research takes you to places that if you have a belief system to defend (as you clearly do) you simply won't look and will find every opportunity to refute statements.

I've gone through and looked at several of your past posts and much of what you do, Economist is engage in "straw-man argument." Nice try, but it doesn't work with me.

I'll leave it up to the mods to decide whether or not this thread is appropriate for this forum.

Yes my opinion is based on what I consider to be evidence. But this is not quite as clear cut as finger prints on a bloody knife in a murder case. We are talking about the specific intentions behind a multifaceted global system.

The answers to such questions are unattainable without the participation of parties directly involved with implementing those intentions. Since you have the free time to be posting on this message board I can only assume that you are not directly involved with said process, so debating on the point with you and anyone else on this forum is useless in terms of finding a clear answer one way the other, unless someone here happens to be an educated member of one of the elite families in question and is willing to talk truthfully. The only other purpose of a debate, which I have no interest in, would be the aggrandizement of the opinions of the parties involved.

In the debate of intentions, what I point to as evidence for my opinion you could say is evidence for your opinion. In other words, due to the nature of the argument, we may not agree on what a piece of information is evidence of.

The best evidence I could hope for to support my opinion would be written affidavits of confession and statements of true intent from those who are involved. Did you happen to read the quote from David Rockefeller that I posted on page 1?

Of course, you can easily say that the quote does not prove anything because your belief system is inherently different from mine, so you are interpreting the quote from an entirely different vantage point.

My vantage point is that I don't by default trust people like David Rockefeller. Don't like it? Great. I'd rather not spend time conversing with someone who isn't going to listen.

It seems that the major difference between our views is that you think the groups who set up the current over-arching system of government and finance had good intentions. Am I wrong about that?

In order for you to be able to give any potential evidence a fair hearing, you have to suspend your belief that 'all is well' for a minute and be open to the possibility that data which people like Jordan Maxwell are trying present to us might hold some truth.

Maybe you don't hold such a belief? Maybe you are open to evidence? Great. There is lots of it out there. I'm not in the mood right now to go through and cherry pick the gems for you. Maybe some other time though.

The reason I don't discount all conspiracy theories as hogwash is that I am not convinced that there do not exist groups of people so lacking in compassion and decency that they could consciously perpetrate a grand scheme of slavery and genocide.

One look at history shows me that such ruthlessness has indeed permeated seats of authority in every land and still does to this day.

One look at the net result of our so called "progress" and advancement in the last few millennia tells me that something is greatly amiss.

Compare the stated intentions of the system to the picture of the prime benefactors of the system.

We have the "greatest" governmental and financial systems ever devised to this day... so why all the abject suffering around every corner?

Want to get down to brass tacks?
Tell me why your name, and the names of other entities, appear in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS on legal and financial documents, in defiance of commonly known and accepted rules of style and grammar.

The purpose of this thread is to come with evidence not to ask for evidence... since this has already been asked by the nature of the thread itself.
I'm also having trouble getting your point.
How does double negation help?

The more I think about this topic in general, the more I feel like intellectual pragmatism and perverted notions of logic aren't doing any good.

This is actually a very serious subject.

It deals with all the implications of our history which have been largely ignored, concealed or otherwise forgotten.

The more I think about it the more I am annoyed by calls for "debate".

Such a notion is born of forgetfulness of the memory of all our families who came before, and is born of unwillingness to seek out volumes of information that exist which help to illustrate the situation. Instead of doing serious work we want to just chat...

"Let's all sit around and have a nice chat about whether or not our entire race is being subjugated by a tiny group initiated to specific occult knowledge...you know it all seems so fanciful let's see if we can't hash it out eh? probably will turn out not to be true...yes, I'll brew the tea, it will all be very quaint won't it..."

Did our ancestors have time to debate the armies coming to kill them on behalf of some royal bloodlines?
Did they have time to debate the mind controlled fanatical murderers working at the behest of so called "Christian" occult hierarchy?
Did anyone care to seriously debate the merits of royalty while we were breaking our backs and paying our tax for whatever bloodthirsty dynasty was at the top of the pecking order?
Hell no.

Now that we actually do have time in our lives to debate, it's too damn late. They've had their way, and if you want to physically do something about it mind controlled armies stand at the ready to crush any uprising.

If you don't believe any of this might be true, then by all means go ahead and try to blindly stumble through the bumper lanes of life. Ignore all the big questions and do whatever it takes for you to believe you are happy. Forget about your ancestors that died fighting for and against the bastards, and all those who died as a result of their policies. Here, have a nice new iPod cell phone to drown out the rest of reality while you're stuck in traffic every day going to work. Forget about that nagging feeling of subtle uneasiness that prods your every waking moment.

Personally, I'd rather shatter my assumed notions of reality in my own consciousness first, so that when things start to physically crumble it won't be as much of a shock. I'd rather reclaim the understandings held by my ancestors which have since slipped away from us by all means of distraction and lies.

The elite families of old have been quietly working behind the stage. They have been directing our "education" from day one. Back before the American experiment began to bear fruit, we didn't have public schools anywhere. Literacy was controlled by the Church, and the Bible used to be for priest's eyes only. The first modern western schools were made possible by the church. You were incredibly lucky if you got to learn how to read at all, let alone a bible.
Is this not evidence that the few can and have exercised control over the many?
What reasons do we have to believe that such authority structures have done anything but change their outward disguise over the last few centuries?
How intimately have the church and the crown been intertwined throughout history?

In order to advance toward global hegemony the masses need to be largely ignorant of the big picture. But it's hard to keep new generations in the dark when their older peers know some kernels of truth. This is why all throughout history we see campaigns to utterly exterminate indigenous populations and anyone who makes no effort to hide their proclivities for wisdom of the ancients and of the eternal now. This explains every bloody "inquisition" as more than just sheer human stupidity. Is anyone willing to consider that we are more than just 3D biological machines? It's no surprise to me that so many are happy to just accept the idea that we are not, because that is how we have been treated by these families to who's authority we have become accustomed to bowing.

So, what's better for them than an ignorant plebian mass?
One that thinks they are educated.
But what is it when this "education" involves teaching pure acceptance of the current imposed societal systems? "Yes, The System is good - why else would it be The System? It's good because it does what it does."

Never mind the fact that the people telling you this are the ones who created the system in the first place and are benefiting the most from it. They will even tell you that it's the RIGHT of some to benefit much more than others because they somehow wanted it more and worked harder to get it.

But no, never mind the fact that we will happily believe what they say because inside we want to have a good system. Never mind the fact that the cogs of our belief and pride are mightily greased by the language used, like "Liberty and justice for all".

Never mind the fact that our psyche has literally been beaten into submission over generations of unimaginable violence. Never mind that we've gone numb and even turned on to sadism by our need to feel anything at all. Nope, we're just fucked up, psychically diseased animals incapable of treating each other and the environment in a sane manner.
Do you see the kind of brainwashing we have undergone?
Do you realize the kind of sickness we have allowed to seep into our consciousness?

It is dangerous to dwell in victim-hood. Yes there may be secret societies and groups of individuals exerting influence which serve to subjugate and dehumanize us, but it is our responsibility for going along with it. Our enemies know exactly how we tick, and they have exploited every weakness so that we may turn ourselves in to our own biggest obstacle in the way of truth and sovereignty.

I have reached the conclusion that people refuse to take responsibility because they don't really want freedom. They just want a "shoulder to cry on" and play the victims for some small interests. It is a hard task to make one enjoy freedom when one never tasted it.
It is the reason why these things take time. We've been lying to ourselves since thousands of years and we can't just expect for the things to change withing a generation. We have a lot of hidden issues to fight with and make the right connections sometimes at a very subtle level.
Our world is driven by the power example and the examples we get... well you see what they are.
People choose to have iPod because it's their substitute for freedom. One has to make no effort to get an iPod so it's clear why one prefers to stick to it.

Clean, great post.

Mushroom Trip, have you noticed that knowledge and responsibility are connected in a way that one is dependent on the other?

Interestingly, Control is the third part of it. Knowledge, Responsibility, and Control are intimately connected.

The same is true in reverse; Irresponsibility = no knowledge = no control.

fireworks god, you claimed that control of information wasn't related to the control human minds. Communication is the broad term which means to pass information. Why is so much being done to force people out of communication with other people? See question in the original post about entertainment. And why is information repeatedly repeated no matter where you look in today's media?

Those few who control this place know that we live in a society of hypnotized people and all you have to do is repeat something a few times and they'll repeat it, too. Only they won't know the truth because they are watching the football game and having a beer.

We live in a society of hypnotized people who just absorb, believe and repeat what they see on TV or read somewhere (think about how effing dangerous that is) without researching who said it, where it came from...etc., etc.

Hypnotism is one person controlling another or others. What's the best way to communicate to mass amounts of people at one time? Why the surge in TV screens in people's homes since the 1950's. Why does the same news story get repeated no matter where you look?

Do you recall when War of the Worlds was enacted on radio the night of 30 Oct 1938? It's actually quite fascinating what happened.

from wiki- Many people missed or ignored the opening credits of the program, and in the atmosphere of growing tension and anxiety in the days leading up to World War II, took it to be a news broadcast. Contemporary newspapers reported that panic ensued, with people fleeing the area, and others thinking they could smell the poison gas or could see the flashes of the lightning in the distance.

Have you ever known anyone who has repeated something, as if it were fact, that they only had knowledge of through the TV? "BS News reported..." Oh BS News said it? Where did they get their info from?

Here's a 2 min video about reporters and the information before it gets to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoXkTg-Uoz4

Hypnotism is constant inflow from an exterior source; effect, not cause.

Yes, it the natural course one takes (more or less consciously). When one gets to taste the joy of being free and unbounded from all those sets of rules one will go further and further into untying all these bonds, which result into taking responsibility for one's actions and so on. It is a crescent process that once started keeps going and going, overcoming all the obstacles that come on the way.

Also I think that what FWG was empathizing was not the fact that nobody is trying to control us and to dis-inform us, but the information we can get is so diversified that we can find bits of thuth from everywhere and that it's our duty to learn to make the distinction between them. People are not dead stupid. If they are being controlled it is their choice too. We all can tell at a certain level if we're being lied or not. Those who are being "brainwashed" are going through that because they choose it too. Because they prefer a "comfy" life. Freedom comes at a high price and some aren't willing to pay because of the reason I was talking earlier and you have also mentioned it - taking responsibility for one's actions and choices. I know people who choose not to be responsible even if they know that in this way their lives and opinions are being controlled too. They consciously choose to have a job well payed, friends with a high social status and submit to a set of stupid rules because that way they have more money or influence. And that's what they want. They want "power" not freedom.
It takes two sides of this conspiracy and mind control game and those who are being controlled are being in that situation because of their own decisions.

Quote:
Have you ever known anyone who has repeated something, as if it were fact, that they only had knowledge of through the TV? "BS News reported..." Oh BS News said it? Where did they get their info from?

I'm glad you brought that up. Yes evidently I know people like that and I also got to see why they take everything they hear as being true. The results were mind blowing: they don't care about what's true. They pretend to care. All they want is a conversation with their neighbor or boss and the news are a prefect excuse to do that. Using what they hear from the TV or newspapers are most of the times just a pretext to socialize and make themselves feel important. "Judging" the breaking news is a fetish, not a quest for finding the truth. Is is true that they are hypnotized, but I'll tell you something: nobody can be hypnotized against their will. Again, this game takes two sides that submit to the rules. The first side agrees to find efficient means to brain wash people and the second side agrees to let himself/herself manipulated finding refuge in social and material awards.

I think it is essential for me to say all that because it gives a better perspective on what is really happening. If we really want to fight this mass control we have to admit that those who are controlled know something stinks (as Clean said) but choose to ignore it.

I agree that nothing can "happen to" a person without their prior consent, however, many people are not up to perceiving that fact yet and waking up is a gradient process...it's not simply a matter of knowing or not knowing. There is a gradient scale in between where you can find all people at different stages. I'm sure you've known people who "just didn't want to know" and that person was very likely a frightened little being.

But then, what was the "first thing" that occurred (internal, external or combination) which caused a person to give away his determinism to another? And if a person can be controlled ONLY with his/her consent, would you agree that, somewhere along the line, extreme measures have probably been taken to gain that consent?

We are not at our ultimates in perception(s) or technology even though many seem to think we are.

Good points on TV.

Yes, I equated control of information with control of information and stated that no one could "control" a human mind. Could one control information in order to influence the information that a mind utilizes in its understanding of reality? Of course, but this is not control of the mind itself. This is why I equated control of information with control of information.

Quote:

Could you substantiate this assertion? In what ways are people being forced out of the ability to communicate with other people? I would have been given to understand that, contemplating the nature of the Internet and of cell phones, that the act of freely communicating with others is more prolific now than it has ever been. Idea exchange through unobstructive mediums can be instantaneous. Look at the repository of information that this website exists as for a perfect example. Access to this kind of information has never before been possible.

Once again, how precisely are we being forced out of the ability to communicate with others? :what:

Quote:
See question in the original post about entertainment. And why is information repeatedly repeated no matter where you look in today's media?

Because there is a demand for the information. Once again, personal choice. I guess I really don't know what you refer to about information being constantly repeated in today's media because my only exposure to it is web articles that I choose to seek out and read for myself.

Perhaps some live in a matrix of being fed select information in an attempt to control - its a possibillity considering the nature of the advertising industry and the way that a media wants to ensure that its viewers continue to view. Remember in my previous post what I was referring to in regards to personal choice? Precisely..

Quote:

One of my central counter-points is that this notion is very generalized and not representative of society as a whole.

Quote:

I already answered this question and you failed to respond. Clearly each media outlet will carry the same stories because they are the stories that are generating interest, and they want to cater to that interest in order to be viewed, in order for their sponsors to receive the benefits of paying them for ad-space, so that they get paid. It isn't a conspiracy. :smirk:

Quote:

Yeah a bunch of people acted irrationally out of ignorance and leaping to conclusions. I don't find it too fascinating considering it has happened every single day for the last few thousand years....

Quote:

Yes. Once again, personal choice. People choose what they do with their own minds, their minds are not controlled, even as others control information in order to influence them. Everyone controls information in their day-to-day interactions, it is the nature of being a human. Your points speak more for the fact that human beings make bad choices regarding their processing of information and where they seek it from than for a conspiracy to control their minds. :sorry:

It's not a strawman argument if I'm describing Icke's actual claim.

The piece you quote said, word-for-word "People who believe that there is no major world conspiracy which involves a small number of people manipulating humanity through a hierarchical structure of control toward a New World Order, ALL have one identical factor in common."

He did not say "the vast majority" or "many" or anything along those lines. No, Icke chose the word "all".

Now, there are two ways he could know what "all" of a subset of people think. He's either asked "all" of them, or he's claiming some form of omniscience.

A straw man exists only if I'm mischaracterizing, and in this case, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Pulsating said:
Another dazzling straw-man! Icke didn't start out claiming there was a conspiracy. He had a life changing spiritual experience and began to research.

And did he use his life changing spiritual experience as the basis for his research, or did he start from the ground up? From the writings of Icke's that I have read, I'm pretty sure it's the former.

Again, it's only a straw man if I'm mischaracterizing Icke. It's not my fault if he takes an indefensible position.

Pulsating said:
Also, what are you doing? You start out with an idea ("there is no conspiracy") and instead of researching, just start spouting off about how it's impossible that a small group of insanely wealthy families control this place.

No, that's not it at all (but good straw man of your own, btw). I started with the question "What would be necessary for proof of an all-controlling conspiracy?" and began looking for evidence. While I have encountered some evidence in favor, I have also encountered a great deal of evidence against.

The usual question I like to ask is "If the conspiracy is real, and is all-controling, then why didn't they foresee the rise of the Internet Boom?"

It seems very odd to me that individuals like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs were allowed to suddenly amass money and power when they were never before on the "inside". Neither came from an elite family, and their ties to any sort of global organization prior to their rise are weak at best.

Pulsating said:
How do I know what you have/have not researched? The same way you know what Icke *has* researched!

Again, I know with some certainty that Icke has not spoken to every single person who does not believe in a conspiracy. Therefore, his claims that "ALL" non-believers share a common trait are silly.

Pulsating said:
Really? Show me this irrefutable proof that there is no conspiracy. Maybe because it's not reported on TV?

Explain to me how this argument is different from a creationist arguing that abscence of evidence is not evidence of abscence.

Otherwise, congratulations, you and the Evangelical Christians have hit on the same argument.

Pulsating said:
Another straw man. No one in this thread said it took membership in anything to become wealthy although you implied that I said it.

I never implied that you said it, I got it from Icke's writings.

You did quote Icke, didn't you?

Again, it's not a strawman if I'm accurately describing his argument. Icke's "pyramid of manipulation" clearly states that control of money is a key part of the global conspiracy. As a result, if non-members of the conspiracy are able to gain control of money, then it implies that the conspiracy is not actually in control of them, and thus not actually in control of all of us.

I have specifically offered you the internet-millionaires as proof that people do actually join the "clique". The vast majority of internet millionairs are no related by blood or other ties to the traditional elite.

You see, you have such a short sighted look at this whole thing.

I'm pretty sure this is an ad-hominem.

It's not about money...it's about control (of which money is a one aspect of, information being another, etc.)

But if money is an aspect of control, and there are members of our society who can make vast sums of money without being part of the conspiracy, then they are inherently outside of that aspect of control, and the conspiracy does not have a "complete hold" as Icke and others claim.

FG, I think you are mis-interpreting the direction I am going with this data. See the post I made in response to MT just before yours.

I already answered this question and you failed to respond.

Failed to respond to an answered question? That's an interesting concept. How many asked and answered questions have you failed to respond to in this thread?

Edit: And Economist, I'm not interested in dealing with your straw man, contextomy "points" anymore.

You simply seem to have a belief system to defend and will work things around until they make you right in your mind.

The fear of being wrong is terrifying to some people.

I stated that as you continued to present an idea that had already been directly called into question myself. The phrase "answered this question" was not used in the sense that you had asked a question, but implied that it had already been addressed. Thus, your response to my statement is irrelevant.

Let's keep the speculation regarding the intentions of others to private messages or an off-topic forum, please.

The ability to observe and discern becomes extra-important when searching into things like this. There is almost too much mis-information and foolery in this area in an effort to make ALL such theories of "hidden hands" guiding events discreditable.

Quote:
For me, the only conspiracy that is really threatening for our current society is the conspiracy theory itself, which offers constant distractions from the real social and individual affairs.
It's a vicious circle which is very hard to break or get out of for one who's already in.
A conspiracy theory can be released & constructed about any "big size" event.

Conspiracy theory(ies) offers distractions? For who and to what? Football scores? Conspiracy theories usually involve current social/political/economic happenings as they are related to patterns throughout history and as they affect day to day life (real history, not that propaganda BS written in just about any Social Studies book).

In any event, it hopefully gets people looking and thinking as opposed to shutting out information under the blanket excuse, "Oh that's just so and so, we will ignore him because he's just 'one of those wacko conspiracy theorist guys'."

You can almost see the mind slam closed on certain people when the words "conspiracy" and "theory" are mentioned together. It's quite hilarious to watch and the subsequent refusal to consider certain things. It's almost like the veneer is about to crack and they rush madly into trying to disprove you without having really looked into anything they are trying to refute.

A conspiracy is only 2 or more people working together to accomplish something... And that's never happened before!!

So many powerful things have been said in this post about conspiracy theories.

One thing I would like to bring up about myself:

I believe 110% that there is a conspiracy by a group that has been going on for centuries to control the masses and turn them into drones that do nothing more than support the LAZY elite. The only thing they seem to work hard at is making sure they don't have to work.

I personally do my best to look at both sides (as this is what debating is all about...being able to refute the other side as you ALREADY know their side. Not that, but you should be able to debate both sides.) of the conspiracy gig. On a regular basis I question if I'm just a paranoid peon and that there really isn't a group of elite with a final goal of controlling the whole flock of sheep. Sometimes I think I am really just nuts and that none of this is happening.

A question for those who refute the conspiracy argument, as I did when I first started reading into it. Do you ever question that your belief is wrong? Do you ever study the conspiracy side? Or do you take everything the govt says at face value and accept it as your own view/destiny???

How can you be more than 100% certain of something?

If it's too hard, just pretend the person said 100%. The same thing is intended.

I'm sorry for saying something that confused some of you. I was just trying to make a point.
