Urgent any experienced help appreciated (germ time and seedling-compost question)!

Well my seeds are now up and look healthy, but they took forever to germ and are very small for their age. I adjusted the ph and nutrient levels of the compost by top-dressing and spraying (inc some guano) however I am debating whether to start a new batch (again). Does anyone with any experience have any comments (their morphology is great)? Does a slow start always mean reduced yields?

I hadn't realised that the compost I was using doesn't suit lime hating plants like azaleas (containing potassium and phosphates) and even the manufacturers warn that some plants will only germ slowly in it (Like at least 7-9 days for cannabis).

Ditch the compost. Ditch the guano for now if your adding it and it doesn't come added. Seedlings don't need any food the first 2 to 4 weeks.
A slow start does not always mean low yields.

It was feeling pious about avoiding peat that did it, in my smugness I didn't check. Any new protocol will place the "New Horizon Organic Peat Free" decidedly at the bottom of the pot for flowering. I have a nasty feeling that high ph (although I've been "organically" reducing ph in he feed water and top dressing with other compost and nutes) will prove to much and their yields will drop off as a result.

Slow germination is most likely to be caused by heat, or lack of, rather than any other factor, apart from moisture.
Now there up, just carry on as planned, though as mag said, lay of the ferts for a bit, until they have a root system that can utilise the ferts.
