Blacking out from Weed?

The other day, I went to a pot-cafe and got rather blazed. I had a 'special' brownie, and helped finish off a few bags from a Volcanoe. Me and my friend chilled out at the cafe for a bit, then walked back to my place - during this time I felt 100% fine.

We get back to my place and hang out for an hour or so, then head out to a bar later that night. On the walk to the bar, and when we first get to the bar - I felt 100% fine, a bit stoned but nothing out of the ordinary. I felt silly/goofy, and havnt had that much of a 'fun' pot high in a LONG time, it almost felt like a low dose of mushrooms.

Anyways, one of my other friends goes outside for a smoke, then suddenly I start to feel really hot and stuffy inside the bar, and have the sudden feeling of "I need to sit, now!", so I head out to the back patio hoping that some fresh air might help, and hopefully find a spot to sit.

I couldn't find a spot to sit, so I'm just standing trying to get my head back into a good space, then BOOM - I faceplant to the floor, total black out. When I come to, it almost felt like I was having a seizure or something and I can just hear a bunch of people yelling my name. I was trying to movie my body but couldn't, just felt like I was laying on the floor viberating. It reminded me of the feeling I get when I have sleep paralysis/night-terrors actually.

Eventually I'm able to pick myself up off the floor, I sit on a plant-holder for a few minutes to catch my breath and clear my head, after about 20 mins I feel fine enough to walk home.

Sent me for a fucken loop - any idea wtf just happened?

(had just woke up when I first wrote this, re-wrote it to be a bit more coherant)

you hyperventilated
it wasn't necessarily pot related either but could have contributed.
I have had that sort of thing happen while sober.
sometimes just having nothing in your stomach will cause that

The same thing happened to my friend when he spent his first night in Humboldt. The bud, he said, was just a bit too good, and he smoked much of it, and, before he knew it, Wham! - Faceplant.

Did the people around you say you had a seizure? It's definitely possible. I've witnessed people on psychedelics have seizures, two in fact. Very scary, it is to witness! I don't know about having them on pot, but I'm sure that if I were the one in a pot cafe and did what you did, well, I'd be gone.

Beware of those "special" brownies; some of them can be quite intense. I couldn't even think properly in English last time I had one.

It was most likely the onset of the "special brownie" that did you in. Sometimes they take like 30 minutes to kick in, and when they do, they can be extremely potent. It probably overloaded your brain.

In my experience, it takes around 2 to 3 hours before brownies reach their peak effects.

Once I was smoking outside and it was really cold like snowing but I forgot my jacket it was just for a quick toke but when I walked into Mr.sub again the heat hit me and mixed with the weed I past out but who knows maybe I would have pasted out anyways. When i was at Woodstock99 I passed out too when I was really stoned and the paramedic that gave me Gatorade said that getting stoned can make you more susceptible to the heat and dehydration.

oo ya both times I woke up shaken too lol but at Woodstock two big guys had picked me up cuz i passed out in the crowed at the bottom of the hill where everyone was and they carried me up to the medic tent it was crazy to wake up being carried over 1000 of people.

Perhaps you are diabetic? and you had not had enough sugar or you had to much, did you eat anything prior to going to the club or the few hours before.

Come to think of it though you said you got straight up and were able to sit down, if you were having a diabetes attack you wouldn't have been able to move until you upped your blood sugar.

Dont know what to tell you man, I dont think it was the pot though.

I've never blacked out but I've been close to it. Sometimes stuff gets way too intense, especially with bud that "creeps up on you". There have been a couple of times where I've wanted to get a little stoned before some important event and I smoke a bowl and feel normal and pack another . . . ten minutes later the first bowl hits me all at once and I realize I'm in for a hell of a ride. I could see that happening with brownies even easier.

I've also read at least a handful of accounts on the internet where similar things happened, including the seizuring. Pretty interesting phenomenon, though it doesn't sound fun!

I don't think it's from the weed.  Maybe you tripped and hit your head, which made you black out..

Doesn't weed raise blood pressure?

Last year my friend made a gram and a half firecracker with some good buds for 4/20. When the time hit to smoke she took a couple bong rips and passed out. I've had similar experiences with edibles, if they're too dank they can get crazy.

I have blacked out from weed.. i was out on the street with my mate and well all of a sudden i had a rush all over my body and felt severely ill.. i was dizzy and wanted to get on the ground incase i fell.. i found a seat were i totally blacked out on... it took me a few minutes before i could see. It's like someone just turned off the lights or something. That was alot of pot i had and well, i had never been used o that much. Anyway.. an hour later it was like nothing happened .. i was fine again.

I used to smoke myself sober every night and whenever I'm REALLY stoned I can't stand up for too long, especially if I've been lying down for a while. My vision goes all tunnel-like and my head spins when I'm like this.

Sounds like you had the same thing, I think it has something to do with low blood sugar levels due to smoking so much...

I agree. I'm severely underweight and I get headrushes all the time. I'm not sure of a causal link between marijuana and low blood sugar but they seem awfully correlated.

I'm healthy and not underweight and I still get headrushes if i'm stoned. Especially if i'm also drinking.

Well I'll be a mother fucker, you know what I do recall about a few months back I was outside toking a bowl on the side of my house I believe I was in a crouching position and I smoked about 2 big bowls to myself, and as I stood up I actually blacked the fuck out.

and I remember coming to, as I am falling I couldn't remember what happened but I remember just falling down trying to keep my balance with uncontrollable shaking, and in my head I was asking myself what the fuck is going on.

it was so hard to keep my balance I fell into a wall and messed up my elbow pretty bad...it lasted for about 1 min but I was determined to calm my self down cause I would have started hyperventilating.

I can tell you this much it wasn't a pleasant experience.

I think it was a mixture in my experience of a lack of blood flow and all the weed I just smoked,shot straight to my brain and just fucked it all up.

The closest thing to this that I can think of is when I went to smoke a bowl with a friend in the woods by our dorms. We hit a mini-Hurricane (~8") with a very full bowlpack (~1.5g) quickly because it was cold and a sketchy location. On our walk back, within 100 ft my friend started feeling very faint and told me that she had to sit down on the sidewalk to avoid blacking out. She's referred to a history of fainting/blacking out, she estimates she's fainted in public about 15-20 times. She ended up feeling fine after about 5 minutes of me talking her through letting the weed knock her out.

I can believe the low blood pressure thing though, because weed accentuates my own "seeing stars" when I occasionally stand up, due to my somewhat low blood pressure.

I've blacked out from weed before. It was back when I was in high school. One of my buddies rolled up like a 7 gram joint with 4 papers put together and we smoked the whole thing between 3 people at lunch break. I was fuckin ripped! So after lunch I head to my Algebra class and every thing's fine. About half way through the class I started to get light headed and woozy. When ever I would take a breath I didn't feel like I was getting any oxygen. So I get up walk and out of the class as I tell my teacher I'm not feeling well. Then next thing I know I wake up laying on the floor in the middle of the hallway. :confused: It was fucked up, but I felt completely fine after I came too.  The only good thing that came from it was that I got to go home sick and miss the rest of the school day.

im smoked over 1/2 an oz to the face in less than 6 hours and never had any problems. the only one time i did fele like blacvking out was when i put an oz of some good weed in 1 bath(12 brownies). i felt the pull of gravity so strongly that i could barely walk and was on the verge of unconciousness. but i made it through. ahaha, shit.
