Been looking for any Mushroom in Eastern NC, Onslow. Haven't found even a non Psilocybin Mushroom here. Couple of sites, including this one says Feb-Nov for Psilocybe Cubensis and Psilocybe caerulipes and the current tropical storm should have had a major impact, but it hasn't. If anyone around me has had any luck let me know where to start sniffing around, thanks.

Please read the forum rules before posting:

Quote:
I. Mushroom Hunting Forum rules
1. No requesting or revealing specific locations.
Locations NOT allowed: Business names, shopping centers, when specific directions are given to a location, any place with an address.
Use common sense about what might be considered a specific location. When in doubt, do the moderators a favor and just don't say it. If your post gets edited then it was deemed unacceptable. If you have problems with this please send a private message to the moderator in question.
7. Do NOT ask about current finds in your area. These posts have been flooding the forum at the start of seasons. If you're curious about if mushrooms are growing in your area, get out there and look! Mushrooms don't read the books. Sometimes they fruit outside of season. There is no set date for any season, only vast generalizations. Your best bet is that if it's close to the season for the mushroom you are looking for, you just might find some.
I can't say that you have explicitly broken either of those two rules, however, your post suggests that you have not read the forum rules.
Good luck mushroom hunting, you'll find them eventually.

Hey Mephisto616, I am in SC, I've been hunting for a few years consecutively, and can tell you this. Just yesterday, we've been declared in the first stages of drought Beside that, it is not very likely you will find any cubensis before June (if at all) . And just a little while ago, driving home from work, I'm thinking how long it takes for mushrooms to come up here. In my area, of course, every year around this time while people in northern states are finding tons of mushrooms, I am busy combing the landscape (mostly for morels) and finding absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing)! Then, one day, it'll be like a mushroom bomb exploded! The first to come up will be boletes, and we have some good ones. You can get an idea of an explosion and what types of mushrooms I find in my gallery, though I really need to label most of them

I totally understand Mephisto. For Christmas I requested and got a field guide for mushrooms and I am eager to use it. Damn drought. I don't care what mushroom grows. I just want to use my field guide!
Damn drought!
