Not Placing Casing Back in Incubator ????
    #689871 - 06/20/02 06:20 AM (21 years, 8 months ago)

I have a few jars that are ready for casing. They have been chillin fully colonized for a week now. Today I want to get them in casings. My question is, I'm a dumb person and got a heating pad, before reading that it wasn't the best idea. I don't hae room in my incubator to place the casing, for the pad is not large enough. I was wondering what I should do. Place casings directly in fruiting chamber?, Kepp them covered for a couple of days in the dark and patch as normal, but without extra heat, or what? Just need some input from the experts.

Thanks
Squeeky

P.S. Don't flame me about this, cause if this batch works I'll make a good incubator with a fish tank heater.

Ok well just inquiring, I have no way to gauge my humidity, but right now I placed a bread pan, with 2in of perilite and 1 in water, which consisted of like 3 caps of h2o2, and I have a small air stone in the bottom of it. Just wondering if that should enough of if I should put a bottom layer of perilite. Let me know cause I'm going to case today for the first time

Depends on how big your fruiting chamber is...sometimes having just the casing itself in there will be enough for humidity. It will hard for you to judge without a gauge
