Whoa man, those Stropharia aurantica are amazing. I can't believe you got a pic of them. Up until now I did not even believe that they existed outside of folklore and fairytale!!

The substrate of those subs looks super moist and almost porridgey it'll be interesting to see how they go.

Beautiful finds haunted,
Were those Stropharia aurantiaca in the same vacinity as the Psilocybe subaeruginosa?
If you're looking for subs and you see those you know you are looking in the right habitat!
Good luck for you're next hunt.
inski.

Thats strange zee,
I see them every time I leave the house in the season, I didn't realise they were uncommon.
Next time I'll try to get some good images, I think they fruit a bit earlier than Psilocybe subaeruginosa.
I'd love to see some images of Stropharia aeruginosa the Verdigris Agaric, can anyone show any?
inski.

Sorry inski, maybe I wasn't clear enough on my sarcasm...

(see haunted's original comment with the pic)

Its a joke? heh heh heh I get jokes

those subs are actually from a terrarium on the windowsill of my apartment (if you can't find 'em - grow 'em). will keep ya updated somewhere, somehow, some time.

Plenty of little bubs poppin up in there so will hopefully get some decent pics soon if the weather stays nice (i.e. moist and cool)

anyone have any idea what the best temperature range for sub growth is?

My field experience says less than 15C or so, though the Melbourne blokes may have a different experience.

My best seasons have been when it was constantly cold (not getting over 10C during the day) and the clouds have been on the ground...

I take it that the "delicious" comment about the gyms was also included in the sarcasm....
