Bulk Substrate Question
    #6891558 - 05/08/07 11:19 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I am planning on doing a bulk substrate for my next project. I was looking up Horsepoo or Rye Grain I dont know which is better i was hoping you guys would share some expierence. I am not quite decided on the casing mixture yet, I heard peat moss is a excelent choice what do you guys mix up for your casing?

Use horse poo. Rye isn't a bulk substrate it's a spawn. You inject spores/LC onto the rye, let it colonize, then spawn to horse poo. Also the 50/50 peat moss and verm casing works good.

Shrooms4unme is correct rye is for your grain/spawn like oats wildbird seed ect... using horsepoo or coco coir are good for bulk substrate once having colonized grain you mix it into your bulk substrate
