Correct humidity for dunked/rolled/DEC'd cakes?
    #6886865 - 05/07/07 10:11 PM (16 years, 10 months ago)

Hi there,

Seems like a simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer.

I've got some 1/2 pint BRF cakes that I dunked, rolled, and double ended cased. There is a lot of vermiculite all over them, around them, etc.. like a full jar lid worth on top of each one, and 2-3mm thick of verm all around them.

What should the humidity be for fruiting? Should I go with the 95% since they are cakes? or should it be more like 85% since they are cased? Please advise me. Thanks!

-K

You want as close to 99% humidity as you can get, regardless of whether it's cakes or cased substrates. People who keep repeating that 85 percent figure for cased substrates are wrong. Don't be misled.

Oh, okay..

As close to 99% as you can get without rain or pooling water?

I haven't been using my ultrasonic today because it makes so many damn water droplets all over everything.. But it sure did raise the RH super high.. Hmmm...

Still trying to figger all this out...

I need to get some perlite like you told me this morning.

Thanks again for the advice!
