1. Fill Pillow Case w/ Straw.
2. Bring Pot to 160 - 170 degrees Feirenheit measure temp. w/ Candy Thermometer for 45 min - 1 hour.
3. Place pillow case full of Straw into pot, and place weight on top to completely submerge pillow case.
4. Ring out, and drain on oven rack over the sink for an hour or so. Fold over tops of pillow cases and clothes pin while cooling.
5. Let cool for 24 hr.
6. Fill the Metal Tins half way with Straw.
7. Mix finch seed cakes with the Straw, and cover with 1/4 inch of Coco Coir per inch of Straw.
8. Cover pan with saran wrap, and with a fork puncture a few times.
9. Place casings in incubator.
10. When mycelia is poking through the casing layer remove Saran Wrap, and place in Grow Chamber. Temp 70-75 degrees, Humidity 95% +.
11. Once pins have started to form drop humidity to 85% - 90%.

or sould I let the straw colonize and then place the coco coir on top then?

Thanx

youve been doing some reading have'nt you...that is good....the only thing you have wrong is you dont put your casing of coir on until the straw is colonized. if you put the coir on first you wont see if you have any contams.

and id use foil instead of saran wrap...it keeps light out while colonizing
