questions about yield

Anybody know the best way to get as much yield as I can with limited space? I'm planning on using one of those plastic bins(rubbermaid or whatever) and I was wondering how much yield I can expect from like 6 cakes.
Also, how many syringes would it take me to start 12 cakes?

Thanks in advance, you guys have been a big help to a newbie like myself

One syringe will be fine.

Yields depend on health/genetics of the mycellium, temperature and humidity settings and strain.

That's a HUGH limit =) 14 -> 28
I guess that is dry weight, all flushes, first flush?

So I'm guessing my hamster would need a lot of cakes and a lot of space to grow about a pound of mushrooms?

you should read up on the bulk growing teks. like with me, i had like 7 cakes, and i desided that just wouldnt give me enough, so 2 went to cakes, well two and a half, on had some contams but i beat it, and the rest i chopped up and spawned into straw, cased with 50/50 mix, i just hope i didnt put to much of a casing layer and that its not too wet, i just may have done this, oh well.

A good estimate is 5 g dry per cake over several flushes.
