BEST TRIPPING MOVIE

Rent a copy of Waking Life and watch it while tripping. It was originally shot in digital video, and they went back over the whole thing and animated it. Dig? Each character in the movie is animated by a different artist. I bet it would be quite a trip sober, though I really wouldn't know . It's about this guy who is living in a dream and just can't seem to wake up. He goes around and has these deep, existential conversations with random people (or are they people?) that he meets. That movie altered my perception of reality somewhat, and I feel like I am a better person for it. Give it a try.

Watching bizzare things while tripping. [Re: monkeylove]
#691040 - 06/20/02 04:13 PM (22 years, 4 months ago) |

It seems that when a person is getting used to any psychedelic experience there is a tendancy to try to make the trip 'trippier' by subjecting the tripper to bizzare images, irrational though patterns and monolouges, etc. For instance, the first time I tripped on acid, I watched fear and loathing in las vegas. In retrospect, I can see that care ought to be taken to ease mental anxiety while in this mysterious and vulernerable state. Even if someone isn't say, caught in a destructive thought loop, bizzare distractions will interfere with the trippers ability to perceive the greater bizareness of reality.

First time I saw Natural Born Killers I was wiggin my ass off. Wheeew! It brought out some dark emotions in me...scared me a little.
Of coarse FEAR AND LOATHING has got to be in the top five.
Not really a tripping movie, but I went to go see Pulp Fiction at the theaters on Cid when it first came out. It was fucking cool as shit! Tarantino's films can be enjoyed on acid because they are written for the scattered brained...noticed how everything skips around in his movies?

I was shrooming in this house with these people who weren't and one of them put on "Easy Rider" that 1960's movie with Jack Nicholson getting stoned and philosophizing about life. It was incredible, a bit freaked out at some points, but so incredible I would recemmend it in any state of mind. It is mainly about the age old conflict between conformists and non-conformists. Anybody else seen it?

I would without a doubt say that "Nightmare Before Christma" is my all time favorite tripping movie. Now you might think because its scary an dark you would go on a bad trip ......but actually no just laugh if off if u got the balls to watch it when ur tripping out.....

Oh hell yeah! Forgot about that one. I've seen it plenty of times. BTW, that was real LSD Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda dropped in that movie. They were both doing a lot of drugs during that time in their career and they wanted to get the "real" effect. Most of what ws going on during that part of the movie was spontaneous.
The ending sucked though!

Easy Rider was crazy!! I like when they leave Nicolaus behind and I also like the very end. The first time I tripped alone I caught a movie called "cat's eye". It had Drew Barrymore in it as a child. There is a little goblin that comes out of a hole in the wall and tries to suck out Drew's soul while she is sleeping. Her cat comes to the rescue to fight the knife weilding monster at the end. It was very confusing at the time but funny as hell.

this is a great flick trippin or not!
another great movie for a mindfuck when you're trippin is Frank Zappa's 200 Motels. i don't even know what the damn movie is about (never seen it sober). it just jumps around a lot and my mind was trying to place a plot on it the whole time. also, when they re-released the Exorcist in the theaters, a few friends and i ate shrooms and went to see it. people were all grossed out and leaving the theater, and we were in the front row laughing our asses off! i thought it would be scarier on shrooms, but it just made me see through the "scariness" and made it look funny (can't really explain that one)...

A movie that was not bad but I would only recommend to watch under the influence of some substance would be Monkey Bone. It had some great cartoon-ish type scenes if you could call it that. Also I would highly recommend Run Lola Run. A great movie for any state of mind, especially while trippin. The subtitles are a bit annoying tho.

This one is confusing!
FACES OF DEATH!!!
Faces of death watchin , while shroomin is fucking confusing!
BUT NOT beacause of the bad things that happen and that you see!! It was so confusing because when the movie startet i thought "Oh shit" and after the fist 15 minutes ithought "Oh shit i cant stop laughing"
We all laughed our asses off and it was so confusing because we knew that everything shown was so bad and distgusting but it was so fuck funny!
I never would have guessed to find this movie funny while shroomin!

By far my favorite movie to trip on has got to be hands down The Yellow Submarine by the Beatles. It has the highs the lows and everything in between to get you fucked up. It is a great movie and the soundtrack kicks ass too.

I think Fear and lothing prety cool especialy if you have read the book and you notice little details in the back ground that you normaly wouldnt see. Also any one notice when watching something on acid its as if your part of the movie like your sitting in a car with the actors.

i can never get passed the bathroom scene of fear and loathing when i'm tripping. that's always the point when i get kidn of sick of it.
easy rider is a great movie, but i could never see myself watching it when i'm tripping, not one of those kind of movies.
yellow submarine is good, i bet nightmare before christmas would be cool as someone mentioned, nightmare on elm street 3d, or friday the 13th part 3 3d would be crazy when it's all in 3d. eternal sunshine of the spotless mind would be an interesting one. the grateful dead movie.

what dreams may come is still a trippy movie to this day, even years after it was made...i totally agree.
but yea, waking life completly changed my perception on alot of things pertaining 'reality' i saw it on my laptop going home on a train and i tried to turn my overhead light on and off and it didnt work, soooo it made me wonder if the whole trip home was a lucid dream or some offshoot of reality. real heady shit.
requeim for a dream, total goodness natural born killers, absolute craziness (i saw the color changing for real the only time i triped on lucy) i also enjoyed pink floyds the wall, obviously, and andy goldworthy's film on his art. real earthy and trippy how he connects our lives with the global conscience of life itself. good shit even when ya'll are sober!!
but for me, the best movie for tripping...
is the movie in my head haha
