dunking in jars?
    #687499 - 06/19/02 07:08 AM (15 years, 11 days ago)

my pf style jars are finally 100% colonized. i want to dunk them before they go into the fruiting chamber. i was wondering if the jars could just be filled with water instead of put into another container. anybody tried this or should i just used ziploc bags?

Leaving them in the jars is fine.

Yes that's fine. I never dunk till after the first flush though. The cakes should still have plenty of water in them cause they have not produced any fruit yet.

I have never dunked before first flush so I may be wrong though.

Anyone else think dunking right after birthing is a good idea? I'd like to hear some opinions on this. thanks.

it can be beneficial, i've found.
esp. if colonization takes very long.
