Psilocybe aucklandii

Gregarious on brown clay soil partially covered with pine needles of Pinus radiata.
I've read the Magic Mushrooms Guide of Australia and NZ a couple of times and everytime I read that it makes me wonder "what the hell am I doing wrong?" I've been out hunting a few times, and never seen anything that resembles aucklandii, or any active species.

Well right now I think that the primary season in AU & NZ is almost over.

You need to look in man made environments, new gardens , Parks, hospitals office buildings, police stations fire stations, restaurants new condos and apartment buildings in the gardens along side sidewalks at peoples homes. If not then its the pastures for you for cubies liberty caps and or cubensis.

Good luck but the rainy season is going soon.
