Contamination Removal

I have a fully colonized cake with only a small area of contamination. If I were to cut away the contamination and the surrounding areas so that only mycelium showed would it be alright to crumble and case the remaining portion of the cake. I know it's probably a bad idea but i'd like some insight.

bleach dunk the cake and then do this

be careful a lot of contaminations reproduce with spores and you dont want to fuckup your whole working area do you?

actually, it'd be better to cut first then follow that up with the bleach dip.
