what are your humidity levels? you might try putting the blocks in a 1/10 or 1/20 mix of H202 in a short bowl or tupperware containter to give it more water, kinda like pearlite.... this might be better for casings though, since they don't need 95% humidity....

Hey freddy frog...sounds like something to try. As far as % of H2o2 goes...people have been upping the % here lately since Ryche discovered the pure 3% stuff kicks cobweb mold's ass, but in my water I use about 4 tablespoons per gallon of water with perlite. No need to go with more...never had contaminants or smell and I've been using the same perlite for over a year.
