You can do either.
Give them heat or not. If you give them heat though, they will obviously speed up. After three weeks, i don't know what could happen (probably nothing except SUPER strong mycelium :smile:). I would leave them at 68 for the three weeks, why? I don't know why. I just would rather the mycelium grow through-out the three weeks rather than let it sit fully colonized for 2 weeks.
Which brings me to a question:
How much are they colonized now?

If they have started colonization, around 40% or whatever, i'd keep it at 68. If you just innoculated, i'd give them the heating pad.

maybye u could leave them at like a lower temp so they woyuld grow rather slowly like 55F ? maybye, maybye not just an idea :biggrin:

Thanks guys, they are just inoculated by the way.

I was just afraid with the heating pad that they'd somehow overheat and die. The aquarium heater method is so superior....

Anyway, I guess I'll give them the pad then, and hope for the best!
