Each and every single one of us has the potential to penetrate the simple truth of happiness and develop an unshakable foundation of wisdom... but this requires deep inquisition and is often uncomfortable.
So you have not attained to this state, yet know for a fact that this is possible? I rage against these sorts of declarations all the time; yet every few posts the same sort of nonsense reappears. You know because you read or heard about it?
Well, THAT is certainly convincing. No one ever fabricates, lies writes fiction or imaginary works or exaggerates or ...

True it is speculation that we all possess the potential.
I suspect it also. I don't know though. I'll get back to you.;)

Good! Don't believe me. Find out for yourself. I'm not trying to be a guide... I'm just sharing my thoughts and feelings.

Millions of folks also speculate that TK is possible, but until I see ONE human being do it, I think it silly to extrapolate that the entire human race could do it based on an imaginary possibility.

I am supposed to find out something that you have not, yet hold as real possibility? Why would you believe such a thing?
Borrowing an imaginary idea from someone else is called thinking?

I am trying to find out why you give credence to this Eastern fantasy is all. If you don't want to elaborate then just say so. Of course, that precludes us learning anything from one another.

What fantasy do I believe in again?
I don't see how you can refute the simple Eightfold Path. Its very simple. Its profoundly simple.
Give it a go: http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/bodhi/waytoend.html

One final time, what makes you believe in such a myth? It was not a difficult question.

when i practice eastern wisdom as i understand it (taoism, zen, meditation, yoga)
i experience an increase in pleasure and wellness, as i percieve it.
The more i practice, the greater this increase.
Thus i can infer that this pattern will continue, and that much greater states of bliss can be attained then the ones i have yet experienced.
Just as when one begins an exercise and diet program and begins to lose a little wieght and feel a little better, he infers that continuing this path will eventually lead him to good health, although he cannot know this as it remains a future possibility.
