cakes in FC (pics)
    #6835205 - 04/26/07 12:33 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

check these out.. the myc looks bored. these suckers have been in jars for 5 weeks.. i birthed them today (aside from the middle 'un) i dunked and rolled that one a few days ago.. all i got was softer myc.

i hope these aren't spent. My substrate held too much water so they grew very slow towards the end. They just dont look 'live'.

Thoughts?

Be patient. A day after dunking you probably won't see anything. Give it a week or two and you'll see knotting, pinning, and fruiting. If they've gotten to the 100% colonization stage they're pretty easy to handle afterwards.

well.. they are about 95% colonized (to my untrained eye) these are just a few of the batch so i decided to birth and experiment. Is it possible for mycelium to just tank and die after a while in the FC?

Thanks mucho!

Just be patient and keep the humidity up while giving it as much fresh air as you can. You'll have knots and pins soon enough. They're not the best pics, but I don't see anything wrong.

Edit: Gee golly, this is my 1000th post!
