I only have one grow under my belt and it turned out to be sub-par as far as what I would like to see. So figured I would take a step up and do bulk spawn.
I've found a nice cache of aged hpoo, close to where I work and they said I could have as much as I would like. The only issue is that horses have not been in there for a few years, but the stables are filthy (rich) with Hpoo that is totally dry has and has a clean earthy smell. The poo is old but it's been protected from weather being in a stable. I've heard as long as it keeps its fiber quality it is good to go.
Here is a picture.

I need to know if it's all good because I've just moved and got here with two suitcases, and no car. So I'll be huffing the stuff so it would be good to know that it's "the shit".

well I'm still fighting on what bulk substrate I'm going to do, most likely a mix of verm, straw and poo, in a monotub or two.
(this is blind leading blind keep in mind) From what I understand about outside growing is that you basically just make a pit in a shaded area (like behind a shed or whatever) and throw straw, poo or whatever you're going to spawn to, throw your spawn into the mix (contaminated or not) and just wait, if the mycelium gets a good enough grip they will grow when they feel like it. Though I'm sure, I would guess if other mushrooms are growing in your area they should do fine. but if you live in a place like phoenix you might be out of luck... (take note again I'm a newbie, there is plenty of information of outside growing on this forum use the search)

That's vary vary good to hear, because I can't help feel a little bit strange about buying horse poo... and yet walking about 2 miles and taking a duffel bag full of shit does not bother me.... I guess I'm just cheap.
Much thanks.
