Does it? Or any kind of rye that will work better (as far as nutrients) compared to wbs?
Also, what are some names that farmers would call rye berries? (Don't want to look like some kinda retard) Or common brands they are sold under??
Wbs has served well, I am just looking to case rye.. I love casing wbs VERY pretty shrooms.. also VERY fast growth... for testing!

You're looking for organic rye berries. That's what they're called. Normally, the best place is a grainery or health food store. You have to be very careful getting it from a feed store. Often feed rye has fungicides put on it to increase the shelf life in damp barns where it's usually stored. RR

TSC doesn’t carry it afaik. Try a county farm and feed type of place. Often available in bulk bins as "Winter Rye" where the ground cover and pasture seed mix is located. 19 cents a pound in these parts.
As far as fungicides go. Buy a pound to test. Mix a quarter cup of peroxide per quart of water and treat half the seed by soaking for 15 -20 min. Stir occasionally to keep seed immersed. Drain well and pack your jars. Don’t treat the other half. Just let soak a bit and rinse well. See how it goes after inoculation. You will know in a few days if the treated seed colonizes or the untreated does not

Guess it will be off to the feed stores!! Should have known a corporate entity would use fungicides and such!
