Got this fractal contamination from a syringe I bought.
Guess it is some kind of bacteria. Is it possible to identify? Perhaps I need to get a microscope

I long ago gave up on trying to identify bacteria. I have a bunch of microscope slides I purchased from Boreal Labs for just that purpose, but it's a real pain in the ass. It IS bacteria though, so the plate is useless.
If you'll inoculate several dishes, you might find one where some mushroom spores germinate, and you can then transfer them to a new dish. By repeating the process a few times, you can usually isolate healthy mycelium away from contaminanants that way. I've been able to get a lot of my strains from contaminated syringes. RR

Yeah I squirted some more spore-solution onto a couple of dishes. Going to isolate the fuzz

I wonder if we dare ask where the syringe came from ?

Here is a new one with more spore solution. I managed to isolate some mycelium and later rhizo!

Most of that mycelium looks more like mold. Are you sure it's rhizo? If it came from that, it's doubtful. The large spot at 7 o'clock looks like the best choice, but I dunno man. Doesn't look good. RR

Yeah it looks pretty bad and wispy (cobweb?) but on another plate just like this I isolated a part and took the rhizo on a new one

That looks better. It usually takes a few transfers to get completely away from the mold. Don't stop at one. RR

yeah i would only section of the couple tips on the few long strands that get out further then the wispy radial growth.

Seems like some strains I get won't rush into a fullfledge rhizo on my MEA dishes no matter how many transfers I do, starting from clone or multispore. Sometimes they revert to non-rhizo stage as well. Maybe I should try a different agar recipe?

looks like you got Antarctica there buddy, You're gonna want to release mass amounts of greenhouse gases to rid yourself of that little problem.
