I cant believe the lack of respect and benevolence that still exists in this world sometimes. It's just ridiculous. Aren't police meant to be working and striving for a safe care free society? To do away with injustice so everyone can live there lives in peace, with out fear.

What good can come from police purposely having no respect for other peoples things? For living things? From having absolutely no consideration?

Isn't the cry of the law "thou are innocent until proven guilty"? In which case those living plants that were confiscated are not illegal "drugs" or a "threat to society" but are living growing things that have been under the care of a passionate, caring person until proven otherwise. So in actual fact the police have broken there own law of 'damage to others property', and broken it, for absolutely no good reason.

How can they get away with this? Such pure lack of respect under the guise of "lawful duty". The law was meant to reflect common sense and universal morals, but this "lawful duty" has neither.

The stupidity in this world is both unbearable, and incomprehensible.

Hope your plants and cacti recover soon.

Well said, Bennu. I don't like feeling contempt for what is supposed to be an institution that provides the stability needed for a civilized and democratic society. It's really upsetting when our laws aren't there for the common good, but for reactionary restriction of harmless and personal activities. Doubly unfortunate when those laws have created a violent underground that shouldn't even exist.

When law becomes an instrument of a percieved culture war, the police are bound to become more like thugs than the public servants they're supposed to be. Self-righteous and pious government is bound to attract people into its ranks who aren't there to uphold a society of laws, but to exert their authority over others just for the thrill of it. That's when the police become bullies.

Hehe.  Just don't get too carried away.  If I said in court what I just typed here, and didn't have a sympathetic judge, I'd wind up getting fined for contempt.
