im not to sure about your first question, i think i can help out with the second question. boil some water and suck some of that water into the syringe wrap the syringe in Aluminum foil and put it in the boiling water. leave it in for 15-30 minutes.

check old Lazlos Tek in G/F...
basically put some broken glass into a jar and water, sterilize, put mycelium into it, shake...haven`t tried it yet..or simply transfer some mycelium with a spoon under sterile conditions to the new jars (without dry verm layer and holes)...

I've recently been using a 1:20 dilution of 3% hydrogen peroxide in mycellium water preparations. This should kill any contaminating mold spores and bacteria and leave the mycelium contaminant free.
