The link has the answer - but they should drain at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours.
For me, overly wet seed either clumps/sticks after PCing and/or falls prey to bacteria.

What I like to do is let the jars drain for a while. Then when i fill the jars up, fold up two paper towels(fold them on top of each other to the size of one paper towel. Then fold them in half, then in thirds....)
The paper towels will be several layers thick and about the size of the mouth of your jar. Hold the towels on top and flip it over so the seed is sitting on the paper towels.....let the paper towels suck out the excess moisture for a half hour, then close them up!

if you split a piece of milo in half you can actually see how much water it has absorbed.

hey if you still have this problem, what i do is i steep my seeds in roiling boiling water for about and hour, then i just shake them reallllll good in the strainer until there is no dripping water, then i take paper towels and lay it on a plate (usually fold 2 over eachother ) and i dump the seeds on the papertowel then i take more paper towels and basically massage and mix up the seeds until the towel gets too wet and i get a new paper towel and do the same thing a couple times, and for the last step i get a blowdryer and hold it above the seeds kinda high up on low with cool air on (prolly doesnt matter if its cold or hot) and mix them around for a few min until the surface is sorta dry this works great for me
just make sure the blow dryer isnt to close because when some seeds dry they tend to blow all over the counter=messy

If you're in a hurry or your seed is just a little too wet you can use a cheap hair dryer to sweep over it while stirring.
