I don't own a PC so could Iuse the following method? Jjust soak my substrate (rice and vermiculite) in metho and leave it for a day to soak. Then whack this in the miker and evap all the alcohol off. Then rehydrate, mike again and then colonize when cool. Since methanol evaps at 66 deg C and ethanol at 74 deg C there shouldn't be anything left. Anyone tried this or think it might work?

With this substrate you can use boiling for 1.5 hours. It usually works as good as pressure cooking for PF jars.
