I'm getting a stomach scope procedure done, has anyone experienced this?

I'm getting it done on Thursday, which is really bad timing because I have so much school work in head of me, and missing a day + not being productive is just going to put me more in the hole.
Anyways, I'm having it done because of my long history of acid reflex (since I was like 13), and I have constant stomach pains when I don't eat for a few hours. The doctor said its most likely a combo of stress and IBS, but to be safe I'm getting the procedure done.
My roommates BF had the exact same symptoms as me and ended up having ulcers in his stomach. They gave him a bunch of medicine and I guess he is fine.
Some of my old bad habits (smoking cigarettes for 3 years, doing coke for a year, and popping some pills, nothing hardcore really) seem to make me think it is indeed an ulcer. I have been having this pain for over a year and have always worried about it, yet doctors blew me off and no one took me seriously, contributing it to anxiety. I sure hope its anxiety, but either way at this point I'm not realllly worried, if it was cancer or something I would most likely already be dead.
So has anyone else had this procedure done? The doc said they will drug me so I will not feel 'there' and just out of it. know what medication they are going to use? and in any way painful?
thanks for reading

just goe one a few months ago (3 years of chronic acid reflux)
endoscopy right? shits not bad. they drug you up which is fun... you might wake up once or twice during the procedure gagging on what feels like the doctors whole arm - but if you do wake up it'll only be for a second and youll be back out.
its not bad, i was super nervous.
don't worry about it (i wish i could've gotten a striaght answer like this before i went, i was freakin out)

Yeah I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy a while back. It's a piece of cake man. It's totally worth it if they can fix you.
They didnt fix me though. I've got SBS (Spastic Bowel Syndrome) and a hiatal hernia which causes me severe acid reflux. Nexium, FTW.

I've had this done several times. I'm surprised that they're scoping you first. Usually they do a barium follow-through first.
Anyway, they usually knock you out with demerol and you don't feel a thing. Upper endoscopies don't require much prepwork so they're not that bad. Colonoscopies are a whole different ball game.

the drug the doctor is talking about is called versed. You probably wont remember the procedure because its an amnesiac.

I had an endoscopic biopsy... the procedure itself didn't hurt.. but I couldn't talk for a few days cause they stretched my vocal chords with the tube.. plenty of ice cream will fix it
Mine was for my coeliac disease diagnosis

Woah. That sounds like it would suck. Good thing they put you out. So they're going through the pie hole not the corn port right? Good luck with that.

Usually they do a barium follow-through first
That's what they do when the patient dies: berium in the ground.
Hahaha! I made a funny!
