Ok where to start, I wanted to grow mushrooms. My friend gave me a rice cake which had just initiated pinning to start with, needless to say i fucked that up - I barely touched the thing other then amusingly staring at the shrooms get noticeably bigger every 12 hours.

Long story short with that, I wanted to trip. Badly, Still do. I ate the shrooms early and got a mild trip, wanted more and my friend informed me that since the rice cake has no vermiculite in it (however the fuck that works?) that I could eat that and trip but it would taste bad.

I did trip a tad off of it, but oh my fucking god taste bad? I rather would of eaten glass topped with salt and then puked it back up.

I shit funny for a week.. thought I'd share that for others whom have sensitive stomaches like me, do not try it unless you think your going to prison where your ass will hurt anyways. (Please note I am a very sarcastic person everyone)

So that fucked up. I came across a buddy right here on shroomery for a legal trade, and managed to get myself some rye jars and coir and golden teacher syringe in the mail.

Now, the current grow. I received six jars, gave two away and with the remaining four I put one jar into a small casing (cased with coir, hope it was sterile enough from the microwave) and put two and a half in a 5W x 11L x 4T container, my little masterpiece, oh and i made a very very small casing with VERY little coir just to experiment with how progressive the mycelium grows, and jesus it did. I ate that casing (after carefully removing the coir) on p&j sandwaches last night. I took near 10 xanax last night so either it didnt do anything to me or i simply passed out before it kicked in, i couldnt keep much track of time.

Where I am now.

I admit to being a little under-sterile and i feel like an idiot, considering I am a clean freak with OCD me doing something in a non-sanitary manner is not acceptable by any means.

What I did - I touched the coir gently a few times with my fingers, oh fuck oh fuck I said. Also I stirred up the top layer when trying to cover the first signs of mycelium growth to "even" out the canopy of mycelium or w.e, I mixed it up a lot.

So if it doesnt get a bacterial infection did the slight stirring fuck it up???

Do you think that the slight touch (very clean hands) is going to ruin this?

Now its stirred i havent touched it. The casings are lined with alluminum foil whereas the cover to the tops is also alluminum foil. I have them sitting on my mini-fridge in the back of it near the vents and my digi-temp/humidity monitor reads 74-86 degrees, is this proper? I hope it's not to hot I thought that 75 was ideal, I also heard bacteria spreads faster over 78.

I made a terrarium. I took a section of my bar and lined it with gabage bags cut into rectangles (the section beneath the plastic was heavily cleaned with like 5 different kinds of killer-cleaners) and then cleaned an old 20-gallon fish tank for like an hour with every cleaner known to man. I have perlite and some screen to put over that and set the casings on for fruiting (friend does this with his pf cakes) I am also planning on running a fish tank pump underneath the perlite to give the terrarium air, which by what my friend says completely kills the need to "fan" the terrarium for lower c02 levels.

Am i ok? advice? questions? comments?

Wow...where to start.

Don't eat casings or cakes. There is very low psychoactivity in them. The main tryptamines are in the mushrooms (psilocybin and psilocin).

Your problem is one of patience. This hobby takes a lot of patience. If you can't wait 4-6 weeks before harvesting mushrooms, then don't do it. This post is all over the place, so perhaps posting more specific questions in a shorter post might get better answers.

Do some reading...the search function and the Mushroom Info drop-down menu up top are great.

I bet that was a pleasant experience... I can hardly eat matured, dried mushrooms without having to force the food down my throat, and just the very thought of eating them makes my stomach upset, so I can't imagine the awesome taste of eating mycel. Congrats, buddy.

How much to eat a poo spawn? Lots of white in there, I bet you could get a heavy trip if you ate the full thing.

My suggestion: Stick to weed. If you can afford to grow weed and you don't have a passion or a burning desire for growing mushrooms, you're probably better off sticking to what you grow best. Hell, I know some people who are growing massive amounts of mushrooms to afford to be able to grow weed the right way.

Lol yes I've eaten two casings, and one rice cake now.

Light trips from each of them, nothing overwhelming..but

yesturday morning i ate an eighth of booms with my buddy and we grabbed some weed and went into the woods.  Most crazy ass human experience ive ever had, i swear to god anyone who doubts darwin is not very bright -- i felt like a monkey..playing with EVERY STICK, knocking over dead trees, climbing tall trees (trying), running around as fast as i could knee-high in marsh sticks and mud.

i felt like an animal and i looked at everything differently, and oh..did i mention I climbed a tree?

Ok.  Rice cakes are worse man, wayyy worse. EW!  If your going to do it do what I did last night, make TEA!  IT's a very light like level 1 trip if you don't use much casing/cake.


Dude it occurred to me last night I could eat anything.  I could chug a gallon of elephant cum if I was motivated. (I'm not, thanks anyways..unless you have a 1,000,000$ check that will not bounce)

its gross as fuck.  I don't advise it. My shroom friend convinced me to do it because I would "bring my mushie trip back before it ended its peak, and trip my balls off"

Elephant cum makes me trip way better than rice cakes.

Okay, maybe not--or rather, can't say till I try--but rice cakes are incredibly weak. I don't eat them, I mash them and strain with sour mix to remove the actives and myc from the verm (yeah... you can't ever remove all the verm, even with a coffee filter).

Drinking nasty strainings from a cake and a half was the equivalent to tripping on half a gram. Maybe less. Kind of a thirty second "Hey, wha?" moment of confusion and then it's all over.

Also, you might get a little ill, if you decide to have a few drinks later. That's not from the psilos, that's from drinking a bunch of nasty shit full of vermiculite. Throwing up vermiculite is maybe the worst thing ever.

So, in short--I am (and this other guy is) pretty stupid. Don't be us, folks. Never get rid of all your shrooms when you might want to trip later.

ive got a measily two pf cakes and one casing. I had three pf cakes, and literally a dozen times the amount of casing I have now before I got "hungry"
