I can see a small mushy in one of my jars, is it ok to case?
    #6828530 - 04/24/07 05:50 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I'm debating whether I should case my cakes or just put the cakes directly into a fruiting chamber. I would really appreciate some advice.

1)I can see a little mushroom growing one jar, is it OK to case this cake or no?

2)How do I know how big a tray I can make with the few cakes I have?

3)Keeping the humidity within a 10% margin seems difficult, is it worth it to try? Any tips?

3)As a first time grower, should I even try messing around with casing, or should I just be happy I’m getting any fruit at all? Did any of you successfully try casing on your first grow?

Except for a few in vitro bags that I fruited as is all of my successful grows were with casing,MUCH more productive than anything I tried without casing until way later after I knew what I was doing a little better

Casing pf cakes is counterproductive because you're not adding any nutrients and they're already 2/3 vermiculite to begin with. Simply do a dunk and roll, then place into a terrarium.
