Have no way of getting one right now sorry... if it helps at all the substrate looks more like a paste than grainy, but is still porous (has holes in it, it's not just a solid paste on the bottom of the jar).

It only looks that way at the bottom of the jar, on the sides of the jar it looks much drier, as if water has collected on the bottom of the jar. This is the case with both my sterilized jars as well as my unsterilized.

not sure but I'd say that if its just the bottom than let it go and see what happens but if the whole thing looks like paste, start over.
