Question About Spor Prints
    #6825251 - 04/23/07 10:18 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

I was wondering if a spore print is a isolated genotype of that mushroom that will make the fruits similiar since it is from the same genetype. If that is the case can I use spore prints for Rye Grain substract. I heard that the spore print might be to dry. On anouther note I just inaculated 12 jars 6 of AMazon and 5 of Golden Teacher this will be my first grow wish me luck! Ima try both the cake method and Casing method just incase I go wrong in one area.

A Spore print has millions of single spores, all of which have the possibility of creating many types of mushrooms, but they should somewhat resemble the original mushroom in which was printed. However They will vary in size, disease resistance, growth rate, and many other factors. You will need to clone a specific mushroom that you like from those spores to get the type you want.
