wbs not colonizing
    #6825170 - 04/23/07 09:55 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

5 days ago i inoculated 2 quarts of wbs and i still dont see any mycelial growth. upon close inspection i noticed many of the seeds and stuff had split open. could this be a problem?

to prepare the wbs, i soaked it for about 15 hours and rinsed but i had to put it back in the fridge over night because i didnt have everything i needed to pc. in one tek i saw that you needed to simmer the wbs after you soak it. is this an important step i should have done? or should i just give it a couple more days before i start to worry. i appreciate any tips. peace

p.s. i have some 1/2 pint jars thinking i might do wbs in those. how well does wbs do in 1/2 pint jars? is it worth it? thanks again

did you inject spores or a culture? you should just wait..... wait a week without looking and then you'll be happy when you see it

a 15 hour soak is not enough to hydrate WBS
