Hey, I was just wondering if it would be possible to grow mushrooms on a mushroom-based substrate, in which you take recently grown mushrooms, dry them, grind them ito powder, and, making a minor variation to the pf-tek, use the grinded mushroom powder instead of brown rice. Also, since there is psilocybin and other alkaloids present in greater numbers, do you think the potency of the mushrooms growing would be increased?

I think sterilization proces would destroy psychoactive compounds because of heat.

i dont think that would be a very effective use of mushrooms, why not eat them and just use brown rice like its supposed to be used?

groung up mushrooms are NOT sterile at all. i dont think that would be a very good idea unless your gonna try and grow mold of course.

Why would you want to destroy mushrooms in the hope that a small percentage of their alkaloids be transfered to another generation?
Just eat them ;oP

Sounds technically possible. As psihotrip mentioned, sterilising the jar with heat would cause the psychoactive compounds to break down, but the carbohydrates should remain, leaving you with something that could be used to grow on. Though if magic mushrooms are anything like regular ones, the carbohydrate level is really almost negligible, so your yield wouldn't be the best ever.

That wouldn't work, what you could do is after youve taken pictures of your fresh, mushrooms, use them to inoculate your next substrate. Its the same question of hey why doesnt the myc make the fruit extra strong if it already has all that good stuff in it.

Mushrooms do not suck psilocybin out of the substrate and conduct it to the fruits. They do not have a vascular system like plants do. Mycelium produces the psilocybin in each individual cell that makes up the fruiting body. (mushrooms are composed of mycelium, not growing from it as if the mycelium was a root) RR

i know that RR. oh well. by the way, is there any additives i can add to the substrate to increase potency? i heard using a mixture of a research chemical called 5-MeO-DMT and water(1:20 ratio) increases the alkoloid content. is this true?
