Shrooms On Shrooms! Mycoporn and Mini Terrariums

About a month ago I noticed a strange phenomenon--if a small pin fell off a cake into my perlite while harvesting adult shrooms, and it had the "fuzzy" mycelium attached to it, it would continue to grow to adulthood..I've seen this happen 3 or 4 times. This made me respect the veracity of the cube.
Now I'm really impressed!
I had half a cake of Ecuador left after casing a bunch, so I made an improvised terrarium out of a 1 gallon water bottle. I tossed some moist perlite in there, polyfilled and taped the bottle, and left in the window sill. Total cost of terrarium = as close to zero as possible.
(Note to self--these cheap "terrariums" might be a great way to set aside shrooms for spore printing, etc.)
I got pins about 10 days later. They flushed pretty fast.
Well, I went in there a couple days ago and low and behold I had shrooms on top of shrooms...LITERALLY! One of my shrooms had remnants of Vermiculite (from the dunk and roll) and perlite (From the bottom, which it was placed on), on its cap...and attached to that was another shroom!
Amazing. After picking, I realized I had photographed two instances of this phenomenon (last photo).
Wild...the cube continues to impress.
OH...I'd really like to know what the main argument against placing cakes directly on perlite is (other than the mess, and that you get a lot of pins at the bottom)...it seems to hydrate them very well.
Anyhoo...here's some mycoporn:

Whoa! This IS interesting. Seems to me like there is more here than meats the eye. What can we learn from this?

We can learn that cubes will grow on ANYTHING, so if you can't grow them then you are a failure.
