Stalled before pinning! :(
    #6823266 - 04/23/07 01:38 PM (17 years, 8 months ago)

Ok so i have 3 pins showing at the moment, but they dont seem to be growing very much. The casing layer is kept moist, but the humidity/temp are good, but it just doesnt seem to be going anywhere. There is plenty of space for FAE, so i cudnt see thins being the problem.

the myc seems to be coming up in fluffy lumps in random areas, but this has been the case for the past few days.

I believe its been in the FC for about 2 weeks now, so im getting a bit concerned.

Substrate:

Brown rice/Verm mix
verm casing

Any tips??

you should be fine. those are knots and should soon turn into pins. how colonized were your jars when you cased them? also did you dunk the cakes before casing?

looked to be 100% colonized. I did an experimental microwave tek (as in my journal) and it seemed to go flawless. The substrate had colonised better and thicker than a mycobag i had previously purchased.

Never really got the chance to dunk before i fruited as i just took the lid off my microwavable box and placed in the FC when it was ready.

I thought they were knots, but they seemed to stick around for like a week or so and never progressed. Whats the usual waiting time from knots to red heads?
