Hello!
I got this pressure cooker, unfortunaly without manual. I haven`t used pressure cookers before so I don`t know exactly how to use it. I have read something but..anyway I wanted to test it. Here are the pictures:
Pressure cooker
Vent weight
Ok, I put 2 cm water in it and removed the weight
Then I started to cook, I have glass-ceramic cooking plate and I started with power setting 6 (9 is max). When steam was comming out I put on the weight and lower power setting to 3. Then about 5 minutes later it didn`t jiggle but periodicaly burst with steam. So I`m like wtf Then I shut off cooking plate and remove the pressure cooker from heat, it didn`t look safe to me. Ok, my question is..is this normal for this pressure cookers? or what have I been doing wrong?
Also I want to know what is this for:
Thank you.

That PC looks European. Sad, you don't have the manual. Suggest you contact the maker, for a manual. I have seen a few sort of like that one. But, take the following, with a grain of salt. As, I am only speculating.
Next time, add water, add weight. Then add heat until weight giggles; as small hiss of steam escapes from under it.
Then, back off heat slightly. So, no steam escapes.
The needle screw thing. Appears to be an adjustment, on the weight. Tightly in, I suspect is the high pressure setting. Loose would probably lower the pressure setting.
If I recall, I think ANNO had a PC sort of like that. He might chime in, with suggestions.

1. put down a towel at the bottom of your pc. 2. put water 1in to 1-1/2 up to the sides of the jars. 3. put the lid on and make sure you click it into locked position and keep that wobbly thing that goes over the vent OFF until you see a steady steam for about 5 minutes. (medium-high heat) 4. put that weight/wobbly thingy on the vent and slightly turn down the heat and set youre timer for 70-90 minutes. 5. let cool off over night then do whatever you wish with the jars.
If youre vent weight or whatever you wanna call it is wobbling turn down the heat a little more. if you hear it wobbling a little bit thats fine. Also theres a large amount of info on pressure cookers that are in the mushroom cultivation part of this site that ive found useful when i first started. hopes this helps you a little man...
peace

A metal TRIVET is what is prescribed.
If you advise using a towel. At the very least, explain to use a WHITE 100% COTTON TOWEL. White, so no die runs & turns everything ODD COLORS. 100% cotton, as some synthetic blend towels, WILL MELT.
