Wiccan_Seeker said: My words to you are "overlast door drugstoerisme". You live in Apeldoorn so you probaby heard of the phrase.
If you're aware of the Dutch situation you know that drug tourism and its excesses are always used by the conservatives to try put a stop to the gedoogbeleid.
Our former minister of justice (Donner of the CDA) wanted to close down the coffeeshops, but was held back. He even made a retarded rap song to try win the young people over for his private war on marijuana. If it were up to Donner, there wouldn't BE coffeeshops now, and no smartshops either.
Reality isn't important, what politicians think is. And an image is cultivated among them by people lobbying to get weed and shrooms illegalized again. The excesses of drug tourism are used by the anti-drug lobby.
And don't say there's no overlast or bitching about overlast. And when the drug tourists go back to the UK, Germany, Belgium and France they take hundreds of grams of mostly weed and ecstasy with them, which gets found in their cars and theres even more bitching.
Drug tourists cause overlast when they're here and cause an insane amount of the drug-trafficking to the surrounding countries.
You used to be able to go to a coffeeshop as a 16yo in the early 1990s and were legally able to buy 30 grams of weed there. Gedogen meant something in those days.
Now you got to be 18, cannot park your car or smoke in the same street, can buy a maximum of 5 grams, often have to show your passport or other ID and theres even early discussion about a biometric ID card that registers who buys how many weed when and where.
This is all thanks to consistent pressure by the rightwingers, aided by politicians from surrounding nations, caused by DRUG TOURISM.
If only the Dutch smoked pot, we'd still be in the cannabis haven of the 80s, early 90s I grew up in. And a haven it was! Holland was so cool back then in many ways.
No, I'm really not aware of very much.
I'm British; I've lived in the Netherlands for only a few months; hence why I went to Amsterdam to find out more regarding the situation.
As for coffeeshop situation; I'm not against regulation providing people can still actually get what they want, and none of what you have said would seem to prevent that from happening (except for those who are 16 or 17).

What was your point again?
How many Copelandia Cyans did you find again?
Who needs Copes when we have one of the worlds most potent psilocybes?

No, this is about reality and the futility of drug laws.

OK, so you're admitting that this causes an inconvenience then. Glad we've got that out the way.

It causes me no inconvenience. Sorry that I refuse to be a poster boy for your cause.
My point is, drug laws can be ignored until you're stupid enough to get caught.

Getting caught doesn't always have to due with stupidity, if you lived in a little more densely populated area, and some cop caught you picking mushrooms it would be a different story. I don't know the laws regarding picking mushrooms in Australia, but if they are anything like the US you can get busted for picking. Either way mushrooms are gay.

script; can't you tell the difference between fact and opinion?
Just because something (i.e. Picking mushrooms) is convenient to person A does not mean that it's also convenient to person B, and to continuously insist that it is, is simply plain arrogant.
My ignoring Hanky had nothing to do with our disagreement or what anyone has told me; I'm absolutely fine with that; it was the continuous display of arrogance that Hanky shown, which simply isn't worth my time.
ANYWAY. That isn't the point of this topic. If you want to discuss this further with me, you're welcome to send me a PM.
