What about medicinal mushroom extractions?

Is anyone out there familiar with this? I am mostly concerned with turkey tails because they grow everywhere and are easy to obtain. I was wondering what methods would be most efficient in extracting the compounds with medicinal properties, and what compounds could there be?
My first guess would be refluxing with a soxhlet extractor to obtain 100% with no loss. However, my next question is what solvent to use? Does anyone know exactly what compound(s) i may be targeting? Also how would thees extracts be ideally consumed? tincture, pill, smoking, etc....

Most people either boil, or use cold water extractions. RR

Who knows? We just make a broth by boiling the turkey tails for a couple of hours, then drop in a chicken and make chicken soup the normal way, using the turkey tail broth as a starting point. This method works with Reishi as well. It's the best way, in my opinion because you can then get the medicinal benefits with every meal and it tastes good too. Use the broth also for cooking pasta, rice, etc. RR

That is a good idea. However, i was trying to find a way to make an extract or concentrate focusing upon the active ingredient. This will take up less space and possibly cut back on the prep time. Sort of like a lightweight supplement to take camping, or for people on the go.
I just found this.

Now i need to figure what type of solvents i need for extraction. polar or non-polar. This i am trying to work out right now........

Most myco medicinal companies grow mycelium in very large vats of LC, then do cold water extractions on the mycelium without ever fruiting it. RR

Just what can be found online. The myco medicinal people keep it top secret. They won't even share with each other at the conferences. RR
