WBS colonization
    #6815760 - 04/21/07 11:49 AM (17 years, 8 months ago)

A recent home improvement project kept me away from my jars(first grow w/ WBS)for a few days, they were all shaken and between 30-70% colonized the night before. When I went back to check them the growth was insane, all jars appeared fully colonized, mycelium was covering every visible surface. When i tried to give them a shake, they were pretty solid and required a couple hammerfists per jar and a firm shake. My questions are: 1.Did the hard shake damage the mycelium(which looks fine now)? 2. How to tell exactly when WBS is fully colonized? Thanks in advance for any help.

You only shake once to speed up colonization and once to spawn. When you shook for the second time, did the grain appear mostly colonized?

There were a bunch of clumps of colonized birdseed, and all the individual grains seemed to have at least a little piece of mycelium on them.
