only one mush grows!
    #681457 - 06/16/02 06:09 AM (22 years, 7 months ago)

hello. i have 1 cake right now that is pinning. the first flush there were only like two or three little pins that i spotted. but only one grew. the rest abhorted. now on my second flush i had 5 strong pins that showed. one fell off, the biggest one stalled, and now out of the 3 that really had a good start, again, when i peeked this morning, only one shot up and the others look the same way they did yesterday, and one is turning blue like an abhort! why is my cake choosing one to feed and the rest stall?

well i have the cake standing up in the lid from the jar and i filled it up w/ wet vermiculite and stuck the cake in it. its been like that for a few days, and only the bottom of the cake is seeming to take to it. i can only hope that the bottom will start to pin and give better results. do you think i should take it out of the vermiculite yet or let it just keep soaking it up??
while i was gone for vacation though, the cake did dry up a bit and i had to dunk it. but the cake is very alive and well again.
