ok so today i fruited 5 brf cakes into my fruiting chamber. its kind of big and theres alot of space. im not exactly sure what the humidity is, but i know its minumum 80%, and the temperature is 75 degrese. i dunked them for 18 hours and then role dthem in dry vermiculite. now my question is how often should i fan them a day, and how much water should i spray them? also i ran the bottom half of the perlite under water in a colinder and let it drain then put the dry layer on top its about an inch wet perlite and an inch dry, did i do that correct? also how often should i add water too the substrait and how much?

i may be stepping ahead of my self but, it is not recommended to have standing water in a FC. the water collected at the bottom creates great conditions for unwanted bacteria or molds. additionally perlite works because it has alot of surface area and promotes entering the surrounding air, and by submerging the perlite you lose that surface area. i will add that i have a saltwater aquarium and the only filtration i use is live-rock, because of the large surface area that bacteria can colonize. considering that most FC are pretty well sealed so if you have damp perlite loss of moisture will only occur from your cakes absorbing it or when you fan. i am still learning my self and have a lot to learn so correct me if i am wrong. I'm sure one of the well versed and knowledgeable will step in assist even further. with out them there's no way i would have the success i have had even if it is just an little, i just hope i may help there need because they seem to be bombarded w/ the same questions over and over and still provide what knowledge is seek ed.
