I hear that an witches butter can be pickled with some other fungus chanterelles and porcini's and jared. I heard that from one of my dads older friends. Im thinking it just adds some color and weird texture to the pickling goodness.

xmush : its the boogie of the woods.

snoot: true witches butter is tremella mesenterica,which grows only on hardwood and is yellow.dacrymyces palmatus grows on conifers and is orange.pickled witches butter might be the best way to go since you cant cook it,it turns to goo.

I'm new here, I've been reading over this site for at least a year and finally decided to register. Enough about that.

Beautiful picture. I clicked on the picture to check it out and I thought I was looking at some coral reef. But that is such a nice picture.
