Unkown P.C. Strain - "Mutant Blue"

Hello all! First post here at shroomery. Glad to be in the virtual company of all you great souls! Homestead recently sent a friend of mine a kit with "Mutant Blue" P Cubensis spores. I have not been able to find any information on this strain. The picture shows some large fruits with dark, nippled caps, the mature ones keep a triangular shape (rather than turning up) and have a 1" stem that's brown in the middle. There appears to be a some space between the edge of the cap inside and where the spores drop from (if that made any sense at all.)
Can ANYONE give me some information on this strain?
Thanks a lot! Peace and Vision

No, that's weird I thought they were pretty straitforward...
I used them years ago, the first time i ever grew and they sent Orissa India spores.
Were they on a q-tip? With Rye berries? Just wondring....
Never heard of Mutant Blue but don't worry about it. If they're cubes you're good to go. They'll grow. You'll trip. Mission accomplished, right?

Yeah, it has a spore q-tip in the rye bag. What kind of pissed my buddy off was that they no longer send a grow chamber... instead they send a grow bag and dvd.
True, they will work, we'd just like to know a little more about the strain.

The shape you described sounds like Liberty Caps. I've never heard of "Mutant Blue" but I have seen strains that produce a striking light-blue fruit.
If you buy kits that come with strangely-named strains like "mindfuck" or "super dro", chances are good that it's just cambodians or puerto ricans (most prevailent around these parts, at least).

The caps do look similar to liberty caps, but larger and much thicker stems... the colouring is different also. I don't see anything blue about them, perhaps we'll call homestead.

This thread has been closed.
Reason: 'Strains' are usually just a bunch of worthless names that everyone seems to be inventing out of their heads and placing on whatever sporeprint they happen to make that day. As Agar said it's all marketing hype and quite frankly, annoying. It's also irrelevant, since all cubes are the same species. The reason we made the STRAIN THREAD that's a sticky at the top of the page is to keep these discussions that only distract new growers from cluttering up the forum. Good luck and welcome to the shroomery. RR
