Spores are not readily available. The material that is making the rounds is mycelium cultures on agar. And no, they are not hallucinogenic and may even be toxic. If you are truly interested, email me. I have some untested mycelium broth that I can put into syringes. This species can be fruited on a woodbased substrate at cool room temperatures.

The Panellus culture will grow very well on wood shavings. That is the first way I got it to fruit. They also grow very well on Pasteurised wheat straw, just like oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus). Perhaps one could also inoculate dead treestumps using colonised sawdust/spawn or wood plugs.

***Warning*** the bioluminescent species are probably poisonous, (i.e. keep away from children/animals and DO NOT eat them!). They are great fun to watch at night, and a good, educational project.
