What do you do to make a little extra money?

So, your wallet needs a little padding, your regular job doesn't bring in enough to live comfortably, you need to make a little money on the side, cash in hand, off the record, no questions asked. What do you do?

Come on, you can tell us here in the Pub. We won't tell the tax man. If you can't trust random strangers on the internet, who can you trust?

If you don't like to talk about yourself, you can always tell us what AFOAF does. (That AFOAF really seems like a cool guy. The best stories always seem to happen to AFOAF).

I occassionally see a car someones basically throwing away for $1000 or so and I buy it and sell it off to someone the same day for $1300. A bit harder than drugs cuz the market for cars could never compare but... Thats me.

Also a bandanna and a handgun tend to do the trick when you're in a pinch.

Damn those liberal drugs policies in Holland. There really is very little profit to be had around here selling drugs, unless you have an industrial scale weed plantation in your attic, which comes dangerously close to doing real work, or are willing to sell hard drugs which brings with it so many ethical and practical problems that it's just not an option for sane people. Besides, who'd want to deal with both hardened criminals and cracked out junkies on a daily basis?

I work night jobs at music venues, either manning guestlists at the door, ripping tickets and dealing with internet orders, or selling merch.

I sell drugs, personally.

I dont make alot of money, but I have a job too. Its just hard to make ends meet, really...

I make maybe 200 a week at my job working 20 hours a week, and then probably 100-200 on the side every week. But I also smoke for free, which saves me another 100 dollars that I would undoubtedly spend on marijuana every week.

So, my little "side" gig allows me to more or less double my admittedly marginal income, and provide a public service at the same time.

Its almost like volunteering, but selling drugs instead.

I think that's how it works in Ohio, except I don't have an Ohio license. I can't remember the NY laws. I was looking into it because I wanted to buy one, but I'm not 21 anyway so I got time to figure it out.

I used to participate in those free ipod offers from a legitimate site.

I actually came away with three 30gb ipods, one ipod nano, and a psp.

I kept one 30 gigger for myself, another one went to my dad, and I sold the rest on ebay.

Not bad for an extra grand of cash. Never knock some of those free ipod sites. They USED to be worth it.

This was around a year ago though.

Yeah, the old sites that used to work were the freepay sites. But those, like most good things in life, went to the shitter.

Just like chazzersize, used to do those free ipod sites. I probably got around 1k worth and ebayed them. Then, I found some other sites that gave out various visa gift cards. I have been continuously raping the hell out of those for a while now, and the company just recently changed their policy making it much harder to do this. There was some work involved in this, but if I averaged it out to how much I was making per hour, it's probably like 250-400 an hour. This is all in a 1-1 1/2 year time span.
